I was in that stage for about 10 days until I got the interview scheduled.

Hi anyz-

We are in the same boat here, we were counting down the days until 9/27 when it was going to be at "zero" and then got the "your case is taking longer than expected" message! Talk about an anti-climax...But I guess not surprising with USCIS! I see DanAl said they got their letter 10 days later-  Can anyone else share how long they were in that limbo state? Good luck anyz!

I would say take as much documentation as you possibly can. Take all the evidence you submitted with the application, and if you applied based on the 3-year rule, take extra evidence and tax transcripts for the last three years as well things from work (health insurance for you two, life insurance beneficiary, 401k beneficiary, etc).. And you should be fine.

Thank you, i filed based on the 5 year rule, which is why i am always worrying about what documentation to take the letter doesn't list much.

Guys i had my interview today and after 20 minutes i was given the N-652 with section "A" marked: congratulations you've been recommended for approval. Literally just a chit chat and asked straight forward questions about what was already on my application.

Passed the civics test with a breeze you've really just got to study and you will be fine. The only thing was difficult writing the answer for the writing portion of the test because the stylus was not working, i ended up just writing with my finger on the pad

She did say if i don't get a letter in 120 days to call. I checked my status on line and it was updated to recommended for approval and submitted for quality review.

I signed the pad that gave information on what to expect at the oath ceremony . she said congratulations and enjoy the holiday weekend. Glad this nerve wrecking part is over but the wait continues for the oath letter.

 

Good luck to everyone else awaiting an interview!

update i am now in line for oath was hoping it would've been oath scheduled but better that than in quality review. I am thankful.

She did say if i don't get a letter in 120 days to call. I checked my status on line and it was updated to recommended for approval and submitted for quality review.

I signed the pad that gave information on what to expect at the oath ceremony . she said congratulations and enjoy the holiday weekend. Glad this nerve wrecking part is over but the wait continues for the oath letter.

I had my Oath last Friday (a week ago) which was 4 weeks after the interview. My field office was also NY. 

 

Since I had travel plans I made an appointment at the Passport Agency downtown Manhattan and got my passport (and passport card I requested) the following day - the entire process was quick and efficient. Just fill the form on-line and bring the required documents and photo.Now is a great time to get it done it seems since it is past the summer rush and before the Xmas one.

Yea i'm hoping its no more than 4 weeks. How long after you were approve were you scheduled for your oath ceremony? Thanks for the advice i will definitely do that.

Also did you have an estimated case completion time of 4 months, i guess for the 120 days that they are allowed? just noticed it when i logged in.

I did not have estimated completion date listed any more after the interview - not sure why (the system seems to be unstable....)

 

- I was recommended for approval, like you, at the end of the interview, and my status was changed to approved the following day. So oath was 4 weeks after basically both interview and approval.
