I probably mentioned this earlier but comparing to what is going on with AOS applications in NYC N-400, is pretty fast.

AOS i-130, i-485 & i-765 in New York (Queens field office)

12/29/2014 - Priority Date; receipt number starting with MSC

1/2/2015 - Fingerprint fee accepted

1/26/2015 - Case suspended - RFE sent out

2/3/2015 - Fingerprint done at Jamaica Center, Queens

2/11/2015 - RFE received - Case resumed

3/2/2015 - EAD ordered

3/13/2015- EAD card mailed out -- received it 3 days later

7/8/2015 - AOS interview ready to be scheduled for an interview

9/27/2015 - AOS Interview scheduled for Nov 3

11/3/2015 - AOS interview

12/11/2015 - APPROVED!!!

It is! And when I filed for my AOS, I got my interview notice in 9 months. Now people are waiting over 15 months across all NYC field offices. So I'm thankful that I am going to be filing N-400 with not so bad wait time.

Wow..we filed in Dec 2014. Got a notice in Mar 2015 that no interview is required. The card did not come until Aug 2015. 

Also, no interview for the ROC either, but it took 15 months to come. They are really overworked it seems in NYC

On 17th September 2018, I got an email saying my file has been transferred to another office. Today, I got an email saying that interview has been scheduled. When I logged in to my account, I saw the interview letter with October 23rd date. The location of my interview is in the Holtsville office in Long Island. I am a resident of queens and that’s where I did the biometrics on March 8th 2018. My application date is Feb 28th and the N400 based on 5 year employment based green card. 

Any thoughts, suggestions and recommendations? This forum is excellent and I have been waiting for my turn to share data and today I have done the sharing. Also, will update as I have more to add.

I think the reason you got transferred is coz Queens/Brooklyn/Manhattan offices, sharing same building, are so much backlogged. So they finally decide to shift the load between Queens and Long Island office.

I am no loner able to check my status. Online checking status says" At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information about your case"

 

800 number says" The information is not available"

 

and my online account says"taking longer than expected"

 

I filed on 01/08/18... Has anyone face this problem? any suggestion or recommendation? Thx.

You should call the 800 number and ask to speak to a Level 2 Officer or schedule an InfoPass appointment and go see an officer.

 

Whenever you check the website for the infopass, you won't find any available appointments. You should check the website at 1 am or 5/6 am. You'll find some slots two weeks ahead.

Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

I had the same "longer than expected message" on my account once the countdown reached 1 day.... in my case my status changed to interview scheduled after about 10 days on 7/25/18.

 

My PD is 11/2018 so you might be scheduled for interview soon.

this was the same for me as well. got the interview letter probably a week later

Finally I am a Citizen. 

 

NY Long Island field office

receipt date may 30 - 2016 

oath sep 13 2018 

 

took longggggg time , no criminal history or anything - just being stuck in their miserable system .

 

Tried more then 10 infopass, congressmen’s assistance, nothing worked . I think they got tired with my file throwing around so finally they gave up and concluded it. 

 

advise to others - Patience only Patience , also heard filing under a lawyer name helps.
