I honestly wouldn't be worried if i was you. Every case is different and depends on the officer you meet. I just happen to be part of the unlucky ones

I just saw online that they have scheduled my biometrics appointment. I saw from other posters that they showed up earlier than the scheduled date... do I need to bring anything for the walk-in appointment? Which office did you go to, if that's the case?

@mindthegap@Lincarol107@hemkank@cndrbk@TingX, may I know which service center you went to to do your biometrics walk-in? Roughly what time do you walk in: early in the day, lunch time, or before closing time?

I had a bad experience walking in at the LIC service center in the past, so I'm also wondering if I can do my walk-in at any other service centers in the city.

I wouldn't recommend going to another service center. I have tried doing that before, and they have turned me down. When I tried walking into my actual service center, the security guard was nasty and said they can't do it, so I asked to speak to a supervisor who was very nice and said they can accommodate me because it's not that busy. I know that you want to feel like there's been some progress on the case, but, I was told that early biometrics don't make a difference because they go by the receipt number (that may be total bullshit). 

I think the time you visit the ASC depends on the center itself. Manhattan one is always busy, but, the other boroughs have busy and slower times.

Brooklyn center is easier to walk in and Manhattan center is the most difficult one.

 

However, I had successfully walked in at Manhattan center because I chose the time right before they were to close.

Out of curiosity, how much time does it usually pass from when your online status changes to "interview letter sent" to the actual receiving of the interview letter?

Asking this because my online status changed to "interview letter sent" two weeks ago and I still did not get anything in the regular mail.

 

I did file my N400 with some address, then 4 months later I moved and filed the online change of address request and specified I had an application in process, so I'm wondering if maybe they sent the letter to previous address....

 

This is in New York city.

I went to the Brooklyn location. Somebody here was suggesting to go early at like 7:40am before the place opens, so I did that. The woman at the desk asked me why I was there earlier than my actual appointment date. I just said I would be away. She asked the woman next to her if that'd be okay, and they let me do it that day. It was a little nerve wrecking but it went smoothly. :)

 

BTW everyone..

My estimate wait time moved up from 6th months to 8months. :(

Has this happened to any of you? And has anybody completed the process before the estimated wait time?

This is in New York city.

On the old site, my status says "we've scheduled your interview" but the new site says they reviewed my biometrics (and the wait time is 6 months.). I'm wondering if the old site is not up to date..? Where did you see your status change?

I'm referring to the simple "case status" page where you input your case number and it tells you the last update to the case. My says "On XXXX, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number XXXX. We will mail you an interview notice. " The date is now almost two weeks...

When my status changed to interview scheduled, I received the letter in the mail within 4 days. If is 2 weeks already you should have had received it by now. I pretty sure they sent it to your old address.

NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

I few days ago I read that one member lost his interview letter and that he called USCI and they were able to fax it over to him, you might want to try and do that asap!

Thanks for the responses to my question on early biometrics walk-in everyone!

However, I had successfully walked in at Manhattan center because I chose the time right before they were to close. 

 

I'll give Manhattan center a try closer to closing time! What time did you go @TingX?
