Everything will be fine , as long as they said you pass the interview you should not worry. Can you please tell us little bit about  your husband interview experience? How it went? Do the io ask some documents at the interviews? Questions it ask?

thank you

He said the IO was really friendly and nice. She asked if he had brought originals of the documents submitted with the application and he said yes, but she did not request to see them.

In fact, she didn't see any documents he had with him. She referred to the copies of everything she had on file.

He was given a sheet that says he passed the exam but decision could not be made.

The IO verbally promised he'd hear from them by the end of this week, so we'll see..

Hi guys, where exactly did you apply for a passport in 26 Federal Plaza? In the post office?

In the post office. You will need to set up an appointment online first on usps.com due to covid. They usually have them for next day. They even take your photo. I just submitted my passport application at the postal office in midtown.

is it better to apply in post office located in the building where the ceremony is or any post office is fine?

I applied at the post office that’s close to my house and I got my passport.

There is no passport acceptance facility at 26 Federal Plaza, the place you take the oath. I just took mine today and the supervisor told everyone to go to their local post office.

As data points for others:

New York field office (Manhattan) Oath ceremony on March 3, 2021 at 1PM

Arrived at around 12:40pm to 3/F, lined up to surrender green card and answered a few questions

Surrendered green card and got my certificate at 12:50pm then took a seat and waited around for all the stragglers and late people

Ceremony started at around 1:20pm, took less than 10min, and was out the door by 1:35pm

There were approximately 50 people in total, 40 in the first room and 10 in another room connected by virtual camera

Overall experience felt more administrative than jubilant but I'm sure everyone there was excited and happy under their masks.

thanks. i'm sure you get the passport regardless where you apply but was wondering if the process is any easier if you apply right after ceremony.....somewhere in that building?

I would suggest not doing it right after the ceremony only because when you apply you have to give your original naturalization certificate and it gets shipped off with your application, so make sure you make a photocopy for your personal records before you send off the original

My mom has her oath ceremony tomorrow. What should she put for "signed at City and State" on N445? Her field office is Brooklyn but the oath is at Federal Plaza. Does she write Brooklyn, NY or New York, NY?

My field office was Brooklyn but oath was at Federal Plaza, and they made everyone put "New York, NY" as their city / state. Someone will come check it before she takes her oath anyway.

Congrats to your mom!

So my husband got a call from the IO today. I didn't even know IOs made calls themselves. She asked for his tax returns, which he submitted 10 mins later on myuscis and his case was approved in 3-4 hours.

Now it says his oath will be scheduled.

Do you guys think the oath letter will show up tomorrow or monday?

Do they take your green card at the oath ceremony?  My wife has an appointment upcoming and the timing seems to be perfectly aligned with our travel plans.  I am extremely upset at this, since we've paid unrefundable fees that are in the thousands.  Dumb on my part for sure...
