Applied N400 in Sep 2019, case got accepted on Oct 8th 2019(paper based). Case completion date passed in early August 2020, but same lame message " we are taking longer..." I sent a message to USCIS that if they can tell me when should I at least expect to be interviewed. Cause, I'm an undergrad student in senior year and I have to go for a study abroad for my final semester. I don't want to miss this opportunity of studying abroad and want to graduate on time. They replied, "Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office." And said they are waiting for a slot to be available for my interview. I don't know how truthful they are at this point or if this is a standard reply. Btw, I got this reply on Aug 30th.

I'm kind of surprised as well to be honest... I would've thought that it was going to take a week at most. Let's hope that I hear something tomorrow or next week. I am hoping to be able to vote this year as well.

Please let us know when you receive something! thank you !!

For anyone who had an interview de-scheduled due to Covid - does your my.uscis profile reflect that cancellation? Mine has the de-schedule letter in the Documents section, but the last entry on Case Status and Case History is "We scheduled your interview"...

Mine was never updated to show the de-schedule. And it hasn't updated to show that it has been rescheduled either.

@vic2016 -- can i ask when you applied? Also, do you live in Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan? Thanks!
(I m an early Oct filer in Manhattan ... and goddam it, I wanted to vote and now it's looking like it's super unlikely)

I live in Manhattan, my application was received early July 2019. I was scheduled for the interview in April 2020, then descheduled bc of covid and scheduled back for Sept 2020.

Yes, I hear you, very important election this year :)  i would say it's very unlikely you get everything done by Oct 10th ( since you don't even have a date for the interview ) but who knows, maybe with a bit of luck things can move faster

Is there a number to call and inquire and process? I filed beginning of last September and had the fingerprints but still didn't hear anything about the interview yet. This is for Manhattan office. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster here! I am about to start the naturalization process and would love to connect with people who are going through the same steps - also, I do have a few questions. My N400 priority date is October, 10th, 2020. I am a DV lottery winner and I am applying based on the 5 years rule. I plan on applying online; I know you can pay by credit card - but what about debit cards?

Also, silly questions but can I start filling out the forms now, then save them and submit them when the time comes?

Best of luck to those of you waiting on your interviews!
