I had my interview on 26 November. Everything went well, interview officer was a pretty nice guy. I mentioned the misdemeanor which i didn't mention in the original online application of N-400. Officer said don't worry about it since it has on the system already. I mentioned it( misdemeanor) in my i-751 which got approved in last July and got 10 years GC. Interview officer give me the letter stating that i have passed in the exam but don't approve my application since its require more review. So my question is anyone had same experience? Since then my interview status hasn't changed in online. I am bit nervous about that.

No need to be nervous. This is very common. Sometimes it will be approved within 48 hours. Good luck.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Our Journey has finally ended :) THANK YOU JESUS!!

as you can see in my signature, we filed our 751 way back in Jan 2018.. time goes by, we know it's a waiting game.. she becomes eligible to file her n400 so we decide to go ahead and file it.. now here's the thing, everyone says, "the 751 must be decided first before the n400" which is why a lot of people do the combo interview the day of.. but everyone's story has twists and turns. Ours would be no different..

August 27, 2019 .. we received notice that her n400 interview was scheduled for Oct 8.. this is it we thought! so we go as a family thinking they'll decide the 751 first then proceed with the n400.. Nope. Just the n400. And it gets even weirder.. she passed the Civics, Reading, Writing.. but yet somehow.. did not pass the interview. The consul clicked/wrote that she did NOT UNDERSTAND English?!  thankfully.. he did not fail her on the spot.. he basically scheduled her for a "do over" .. whatever that means. Dejected but yet glad that it was not an outright failure..

October 8, 2019 .. her "do over" interview was scheduled for December 16.. so I take another day off from work and we attend.. even the n400 interview people were not sure what an "interview do over" meant.. so they just told her, "we'll see what happens" .. we wait and she goes from room 901 to room 437 in NYC.. the Adjudication room! CROWDED.. long wait.. her appt was at 1PM.. we got sent down at around 2PM? and basically was there until 5PM..

She was one of the last ones called.. before she went to the officer.. she was playing with our son so she kissed him and me and off she goes.. the "interview" was even shorter.. yet, weirder.. even the consul flat out told her, "this makes no sense. you read. write. we're talking so you understand. you passed the civics.." but my wife told her the truth.. the previous consul spoke too fast so in one of the questions from the applciation, she kept answering, "no no.. i don't know" which is why he said she didn't understand. Anyways.. this consul clearly saw her able to understand so she basically went thru the application questions again as formality.

At the end of the interview.. my wife asks, "did I pass?" consul said Yes.. and then my wife asked what i told her to, about our 751.. which she did.. the consul replied, "Well.. actually, I have it right here. Is that (our son's name) and your husband outside?" my wife said yes.. and that was it!

the paper she was given said she passed and the box for "A decision cannot be made at this time yada yada yada" was checked.. regardless, her Naturalization Oath was scheduled a day after and our 751 application was approved that same day.

Thank you Jesus!! Good luck everyone.. truly, at the end.. this journey is all worth it.. patience truly is the key

As of today, processing times for Queens, Brooklyn and NYC (Manhattan/Bronx) field offices. Things have definitely improved for Queens and Brooklyn while NYC remains a disaster basically. I can't even remember the last time the lower range was <12 months for NYC. Given all three field offices are located in the same building (literally), I don't understand why they don't distribute cases even among the 3 offices to help address the atrocious backlog (30,000 cases) in the NYC office. Why transfer to Newark?!! As always, nothing makes any sense! And the NYC field office also processes case for Rockland and Weschester who get interviews in about 6 months - why?!!! My "wait time" had fallen to 17 days and today was increased to 3 months - a great Xmas present! :(

It definitely looks like Brooklyn processing times have improved.

I received notification today that my interview has been scheduled. June 21 2019 priority date, and outstanding i-751.

That is pretty good!!

My advice to anyone from Manhattan eligible for citizenship in the next 6 months is to MOVE out of Manhattan - try Rockland (they get interviewed <6 months) or Long Island. But forget about Manhattan unless you want to wait 1 year to get an interview....once you have lived in the new area for 3 months you can apply for citizenship from the new location.

Across the 3 field offices of New York, Brooklyn and Queens, yes, Queens is currently the "fastest" (which is a relative term as everything in NYC is SLOW compared with other parts of the country):
