No problem. No I’m not sure if any where from Manhattan. But I know everyone as a whole no matter what borough who filed in NYC where having to wait for a year before getting any updates. I’m hoping you get an update soon, cause they seem to be giving interviews and sending NYC residents to different processing centers... even as far as New Jersey. I know someone in Rosedale queens like me who has to interview in jersey, which is weird. My interview is in Manhattan and I’ve always had to go to Long Island for all my cases cause I’m right at the border or queens and long island.

Hello Guys, 

 

I am a Manhattan  November  6th 2018 filler. I had my interview yesterday (October 8th) at 26 federal plaza at 11:50 am. The experience was really great. I was interviewed by the same officer who interviewed my husband and I three years ago for the first green card. She was lovely, we joke a lot and she even remembered our dog's name. After we did the civic test, that I passed with flying colors, she asked me if I wanted to become a citizen on the same day (of course I said yes). She schedule me for a same day oath ceremony (I heard of them, but I wasn't expecting that to happen :) ). I had oath and became a citizen by 2:30 Pm. I am sooo glad to be done with this process. good luck to you all!

Quick update about my timeline and interview process. 

 

• Applied I-751 = September 2017

• Applied N400 with pending I-751 = September 2018

• Manhattan (New York City)

 

My interview was yesterday (Combo interview) Oct 8th, 2019 in Newark (New Jersey). I wish my interview were in New York Federal Plaza but my case was transferred to 970 Broad St Newark, NJ. It was a little difficult to get there with my spouse via public transportation but we mae it on time. 

 

My interview was scheduled for 8:30AM. I was there at 7:30AM. They had us waiting until 10AM. My name was called and I have been informed that I will be going through a combo interview. They asked if I have all the supportive documents and if my spouse is with me. 

 

When the immigration officer called my name to appear at the door he asked if my spouse is with me. He saw him and said he doesn't need him because he already approved both my cases since my case was very well put together. 

 

We did the civics test very quickly and he approved my case. Told me that I will do the oath ceremony in New York. 

 

Now looking to my online case it says approved wait time for oath ceremony 3 months :( 

 

I wish I could do everything same day.

I had my interview 10/8 in Newark as an NYC applicant. Now my status shows approved and waiting to schedule the oath ceremony.

 

Here's the strange thing on my account... 

Estimated wait time: 4 months

Estimated case completion time: January 2020 (3 months)

 

Not sure if it's been discussed anywhere else (I can't seem to find it.) but has anyone been able to make sense of these estimates? Should I just ignore them?

 

I'm having such a love/hate relationship with the online platform. They also sent me two texts at 2AM today saying that my case has been updated but there isn't any new info on my account.

Sept 9, 2018 - receipt notice mailed

Sept 10, 2018 - biometrics notice mailed

@sgzr100% ignore the estimates.  they have no bearing on the relationship between a candidate who has been approved and his/her oath date.  i would bet you will have your oath within 3-4 weeks.  they are doing oaths very frequently at 26 Federal Plaza now; many morning interviewees have the option to do same day oaths in the afternoon which mean other successful candidates have more spaces in the regularly scheduled ones.

I still haven't heard anything regarding my oath ceremony. I'm reading that people who had interviews at their own field offices get ceremonies scheduled quickly, even within the same week but I guess there's a delay for people who had a case transfer. Such a bummer. 😐

 

Is there an average timeframe for how long before the ceremony the schedule notice is sent? I'm assuming that they won't send a notice to  people asking them to show up the next week. I've been putting off some travel thinking that the ceremony would be sooner but I guess I will go ahead and buy my tickets.

@sgzrI still think it is a bit early for you to get concerned about it, though I totally understand your anxiousness and desire to just get it over with!  

 

Regarding your other question, I got the notice on September 27 for an oath on October 11.  I don't think in NYC they would give you less than a week notice.

Hello Everyone,

It has been a long time since my husband filed N 400 online on October 16, 2018.  After a year he received a letter for his interview scheduled for October 31, 2019.  His case was transferred to Newark, New Jersey even though we live in Manhattan.  I would like to know if somebody has a similar case and if they can share their experience regarding the interview in Newark, New Jersey.  Also, I would like to know how long it is taking for the Oath Ceremony after the approval in New Jersey and if his oath will be in New Jersey or New York.  Thanks for all your help in advance.  Maite & Osmar
