Will USCIS accept annulment of marriage contract

I signed a marriage contract in Sharia court in Jordan but never had the marriage recorded through either the US Embassy or local US court in my state. Immigration lawyer says the marriage is not legal in the US. I stopped the petition and obtained an annulment from an American Imam. Will USCIS accept the annulment letter as proof of end of the marriage contract or do I still have to try to get a divorce or annulment from Jordan somehow? Marriage was never consummated, we never lied together and he pays no maintenance or support. These are my reasons I was granted annulment.
