Hi everyone,

I filed my AOS/EAD/AP packet last May 15, 2017 and have just called the USCIS to follow-up as the 90-day processing time has passed and I still haven't gotten my EAD or AP (or any RFEs or updates) in the mail. Just wanted to share this information for those who filed around the same time as me, who are also wondering where their EAD/AP cards are. ;)

AOS (green card): As of today (Sep 7, 2017) the USCIS is still processing applications from September 2016. So this will take a while longer - as expected.

EAD: This should be ready by now, since they do have that 90-day processing time, as mentioned. The nice lady on the phone processed a request for follow up for me (to see what is going on with the case and if there are any problems/issues I should know of), and she said I should be hearing back from USCIS about the status of my case within 30 days. If I don't hear back, I should call again. I suggest you call USCIS to follow up, at least on your EAD, soon.

AP: As of today (Sep 7, 2017), they are still processing applications from April 2017, so this is also still within the normal processing time, which is just a bit slow this time of the year, I guess. I just would need to wait 1-2 months more, and then follow up again.

That's all! Hope we all get our EAD/APs soon. All this waiting since filing for K-1 is truly nerve wracking, but we're at least getting somewhere! :)

To those lucky ones who have already received their EAD/AP cards in the mail and also filed in May 2017, please post when you got yours in this thread! Curious to know!

P.S. The number to call is 1-800-375-5283. Just go through the menu options, choose the "if you have already filed an application..." option, and "case status", then I just pressed for "if there are any problems with your case or you would like to update anything in your application, press ___ to talk to a customer representative". Basically the goal is to just keep going through the menu options until you hear an option to talk to a real person haha. Then the real person can help you follow up. ;)

P.P.S. It is suggested that you take note of the person's name you talk to on the phone and their ID # (they voluntarily give this info out once they pick up the phone, and you can always ask for it again before you hang up), for your records. And also take note of any confirmation # they give for any follow up requests!

Where does it say 90 day processing for EADs? I think you are just now reaching the EAD processing time.  It appears that EAD applications filed in mid May are just now being processed.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

That's just the estimated processing time for EADs, which even the USCIS agent I talked to on the phone said is usually the wait time. She also said that EAD applications submitted mid-May should have been processed already (thus the reason she requested for follow up), but APs not yet - as my post states. Also, I got this estimate from my own Timeline here on VisaJourney, which is updated using information from other filers - my timeline says my EAD should be adjudicated anytime from Sep 1-8, and my AP from Sep 1-10. Of course, I understand that I won't necessarily be receiving my cards by then, and there are going to be delays, but it never hurts to call and check what's going on. I'm glad I did, and just wanted to share the information I received, for peace of mind. :)

I also have a friend who filed for her EAD/AP last year, didn't receive it within 90 days, and followed up, and ended up getting her green card earlier - not sure if it's because she followed up or not, but again, doesn't hurt to call! :)

I think 90 days is a little ambitious........The processing times area of VJ shows SOME EADs being processed from May 18th.....I think yours could be any day now........Good Luck!!

Filed on May 30th, didn't hear from EAD nor AP, it just said received the entire time but got my interview notice for the AOS scheduled the 30th of last month, was approved and now waiting for the GC in the mail. (hopefully it won't take a long time) We didn't really follow up on any of the filed papers and was just lucky to get an interview date within the time period (3 mos). More concerned about CGFNS, they are taking such a long time even just to acknowledge that they received the required documents! Hope you will will get your EAD and AP soon, and GC too. good luck!

Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear from others in the same boat as me. Please do update us if/when you receive your cards. I still haven't heard anything from USCIS since calling, but it may be too early to expect any update, as we know everything moves slowly in the government ;) I didn't get any notification about an interview date... hoping we don't need to do it, as I hear some people have it waived. But we'll see. Best of luck to all of us... hopefully we get our cards soon!!!
