Hello. My husband has his visa interview tomorrow morning and wanted to know exactly what questions are asked at the interview? I've read previous posts about bank statements and other proof of marriage, on the interview checklist this was. Or listed as a requirement. Should we be concerned? Appreciate it.

There's no standard script, it varies, and probably also depends on your overall case.

You can read reviews in the forum, and in one of the guides, I don't have it handy, there's a list of questions that are often asked, but keep in mind that's not going to be specific to Mexico, it will vary.

Bring evidence you used for USCIS, and then also bring evidence on ongoing relationship.

Last I saw they were definitely interested in financials.

Actually be sure to bring what you sent the NVC, including originals.

Try to have bills that span the time of your relationship, and photos could be very beneficial.

If you have evidence on you to answer a question that'll be great.

Read the NVC process and also check out the Mexico forum

We just did our interview in Juarez 3 weeks ago. My wife was only asked two questions: Who is your petitioner? Where is he now? She was not asked for any evidence other than the required documents (I-864, current visa, etc).

She was able to eavesdrop on others who weren't so lucky. While her "interview" lasted no more than 90 seconds, others were at the window for 20+ minutes.

I'd bring any evidence that you sent with your I-130 and any new evidence that you can gather. Be sure to also bring everything listed here: https://mx.usembassy.gov/visas/instructions-for-immigrant-visa-applicants/ . During our interview they were definitely checking for the police certificate so make sure you have it.

I wonder what determines how much they interrogate you, if its just the specific interviewer or something in your file.

Can you give details on the police report?

Did you get local only, federal? Needed an apostille?, did you translate it?

I'm not entirely sure what determines how much they interrogate you. I assume that by the time they interview you they already have a good idea if you're going to be approved or denied. I also assume that your history has a lot to do with it. Neither my wife nor I have ever been arrested, we're both educated, I've always paid taxes, we've traveled all over the world and we've been together for nearly eight years now. I feel like I included a reasonable amount of evidence in our initial I-130 package but not nearly as much as other people, so that didn't seem to have a huge effect.

One thing I've noticed is that both my wife and I always breeze through US immigration when traveling. I'm a US citizen and she's a Mexican citizen. When I return to the US I barely get looked at, they just scan my passport and say "Welcome home". No more than 30 seconds. I've noticed plenty of other USCs get questioned thoroughly by the CBP officer so maybe we just have a good history with DHS.

Anyway, we only got the Jalisco (state where my wife is from) police report as according to my understanding that's all we required. We did not get it apostilled but we did translate it ourselves. Here's Jalisco's website about the "Carta de No Antecedentes Penales", http://tramites.jalisco.gob.mx/tramite/5097 . We went to this office https://www.google.com.mx/maps/place/Unidad+Administrativa+Las+Águilas/@20.631182,-103.4170838,20z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x66868360c01383e!8m2!3d20.631182!4d-103.416907?hl=en and it was an easy process. It took about 30 minutes of waiting in line and the cost was MXN$60.

On the day of our interview there was an officer checking everyone's documents at the door. He flipped through my wife's documents specifically asking for the police report. They also checked for it during the actual interview.
