Visitors visa question for Parents to attend K-1 wedding

Hi All,

I am in the final stages of my K-1 visa and I would like my parents to apply for visitors visas soon to attend the wedding, so that we can book their flights and things, sooner rather than later.

My question is, when they ask on the DS-160 if you have any immediate relatives in the US, my gut feeling for them would be to say "No" because I will not be in the US yet at the time that they apply for their visas. Is that the correct assumption ? If the CO then ask the purpose of their trip and they say to attend my wedding, it might be a bit confusing since they just said they have no relatives in the US?

I guess they can explain the situation to the CO ?

Any suggestions ?

Why can they not use the VWP?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

My mum's passport is not from a VWP country, and she applied for a visa before I left for the US (also to attend my wedding). We indicated that she had no immediate family in the US, because at the time I wasn't here yet. Wasn't a problem. She got a visa :)
