According to your first post as long as the congress does not do what the president wants he can issue an executive order. That  was my point in what I said but nice job of avoiding what I said.

 

Most of his executive orders were to undo the overreaching executive orders by the previous administration. He has not tried to bypass congress with executive orders. A quick Google search would tell you that.

Because he has a republican controlled congress.  Why would a republican president bypass his republican controlled congress with executive orders? It would show a lack of unity within the republican party.

I think you're talking about two different things. DACA itself is (was) for anyone without status (regardless of entry) who meet certain other criteria related to age, school, military service etc.

 

What some people have done is apply for AP, leave the US, and get paroled back in. The only people who *need* to do this are those who entered without inspection because they need a legal entry to be able to adjust status if they are ever in the position to adjust status. They can't adjust from DACA itself, with or without a legal entry/AP.

 

The legal entry is necessary because if they marry a US citizen and had entered without inspection, they can't adjust. Someone who had entered legally CAN so they don't need AP. 

 

I think that this is what the clip you shared below is about (either that or it's wildly inaccurate calling it a "DACA green card" and leaving out those who entered with inspection). It's explaining this route under these circumstances, and I don't think is meant to exclude those who entered with inspection.

Like there is unity within the party lol. If there was unity they would have repealed ACA. 

 

But still you try to avoid my initial point. I know it's hard to admit when you are wrong so just keep avoiding it.

 

My point from the beginning and still is your initial assertion that it is okay for a president to legislate by executive order when congress does not bend to his will. If you think that is ok, will you be okay about it if Trump does it? Will you address that or keep finding reasons to avoid it?

Obama had the power as president at the time to issue an executive order on DACA and he did. I believe Trump will issue executive orders of similar or greater magnitude at some point during his presidency if he feels the need. He's the president and he has the power to do that.

It really doesn't matter whether he likes or dislikes immigrants. I, unlike you, do NOT base my life on what PRESIDENT Trump likes or dislikes. To date, he has NOT said he does not like immigrants. I have NEVER had an issue with Immigration. PRESIDENT TRUMP is ENFORCING the law...something with that previous president should have done.
