Worried.....proof of relationship????

i saw the link and don't understand why they are asking for such evidence since i don't see that request on the instructions to the I-130. anyone see this request for additional evidence on the state depts website? the I-130 doesn't mention any of this, only to send the marriage certificate with fotos.

Actually it's on the new I-130 form instructions. Wasn't there when I submitted mine back in Dec.

you are correct. the link to the I-130 in the guide is outdated, here is the newer one with instructions and it does say to include the additional proof of marriage.

you still need to give it some more time.

That could be another possibility. There's a fixed number of people working in the family-based unit. If the case load increases the time to completion is going to be extended, and if the case load decrease the time to completion is going to shorten.

On average. A case that gets a 'hit' for a name check is going to take however long to be cleared depending on what files have to be manually searched to resolve the hit.

How do you get a statement of a "bonafide marriage"? Is a letter from a friend or family member enough information? How would you obtain a sworn affidavit anyway?

we also didnt submit anything more than the marriage certificate

nothing to worry u will be fine

just keep rest everything ready for interview

for interview everything will be required

it might be some kind of name hit or security check

when u did file for the i-130 that time there was the requirement for marriage certificate

now the new guidelines have changed but it wont matter the proof of certificate for your marrige

u may contact senator n see what the actual matter is

Yes when I submitted the I-130 I did have to provide add'l evidence according to the I-130 instructions, but I didn't. I wanted to send it off ASAP b/c that was going to take add'l time. However, I was able to obtain the letters anyway. I got two from my sister-in-laws from his side of the family (they are not certified). I also got one from my sister (which is notarized). I have them ready to go for the interview.

My petition was approved on 5/16.
