CONGRATULATIONS ..Wanted to say congratulations to all the guys who had their interview last week and made it through. We know the excitement and relief that cometh out of it. All of you deserves it.\

 

For the rest of us waiting for our biometrics to clear through the FBI, for us in line , for us looking forward to our interviews dates and times,lets stay positive and pray for one another..All of us will overcome this  regardless of how long it takes , we shall surely get there

 

Lastly,saying another sorry for Kates story about her not been interviewed after all this wait. If there is someone on here who had the same experience as she did then we are really sorry. We are with you in this journey.our prayers goes to you and hopefully we hear some good news soon from your cases.

However for all those who got approved ,how about you try and remember the questions you was asked .It gives us some kinda hope that we going to be asked what we actually studying. haha. that was just by the way but would be glad to know what question you was asked actually.Peace be unto all and may we be strengthen for time to time. God is Great.

I think it just varies by local office and officers. Just wasn’t lucky or something. Keep us all posted!

Question 1. Were you eligible to apply for the N400 ? Most often if you are , you won't get any sort of problem with them not proceeding with the interview. Lastly its ok to be devastated. We all know the stress that goes into this journey , the time , money and how emotional it can get seeing others in the same situation as yours gets through the system successfully. Always remember you have come along way. i know people who have been inline for an interview for a year now and still waiting.  How ever i would advice you call to make sure the Officer actually sends your case to the local ASC for processing. Thank you very much for the support! I am genuinely happy for all the guys that had a successful interview experience. I am almost used to immigration being inconsistent in their judgements, but yet, it’s a government institution and shouldn’t this be a one same  process for all? It makes so much sense and sales so much time and money to simply hold interview for both at the same time.

i really hope all of you guys, in the same immigration boat, will be luckier, because luck is what defines immigration in this country. 

Mad for the waivers, previously when you apply for a 10 year green card based on marriage, if the paperwork you submit with your case is in order and no questions are asked, they would waive the interview and will simply mail your card. But now, with new president, this is not the case. And this is what slows down the processing times for families, every body is called for an interview, no matter what stage of the process you are. So this is what I’ll be waiting for.  And then again in line for N400. 

I applied based on 90 days rule. The officer noticed that on my application, that I applied for citizenship 5 days after my admission date for application. So, answering your question, yes I was eligible to apply and still an, the rules have changed. But, once again, I wish they’d notify us about it somehow.

It seems it takes 3 to 4 months to proceed N400 from application to approval.

Things are is a little odd for us. 

 

My husband and I got interviewed on the same date, by different officers, we both passed. My husband and I got a little green note attached to our interview letter. later, my interview officer explained me that this little note is for scheduling our ceremony dates  together.

 

My status shows that "based on the approval, they will do quality check of their decision". Whereas my husband got his oath ceremony letter mailed message yesterday, and today uscis updated his myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov status. PDF is not there yet.

 

This means he will go to ceremony on a separate date than me.  

 

Is there anything we can do at this point?

Yes, exactly. Chicago seems to make their own rules. They only give 6 months on the I-551 stamp (at least I've read of several others who have gotten that, and nobody said they got a 1-year stamp in Chicago). And between our experience and what @Kate_H and @imagineyouandme have reported, it looks pretty clear that they categorically don't do joint interviews in Chicago. Lucky us! :-)

 

We did have the ROC interview earlier this month, maybe 5-6 weeks after what should have been the originally scheduled citizenship interview. The officer wasn't really sure why we were there; just explained what we already knew about the A-B-C fraud categories, and that even some "A"-cases get called in randomly (though we figure it must have been triggered by the N-400 stuff, not truly "random"). She was really nice, and all went fine. We had absolutely no red flags, and she was impressed with how much evidence we had already submitted. We'd brought some more recent evidence, and I think we just gave her the latest month's worth of banking and credit card statements. She didn't approve on the spot, but said she would be doing it soon. And then my wife gets back in the citizenship queue...

Hi @AK_2014 It'd be nice if do  combo on mine but If they will approve my ROC now it will be better instead of having double interview. And, yes I'm in Denver.

Thanks @Kate_H  That is so true (about what you wrote in cyrilics)  I hope your waiting time won't be long now! That's really sucks they don't do waivers anymore, I got my 10-year GC exactly like that, without interview, feel so lucky now.

And, perfect timing, an update (especially for @Kate_H and @imagineyouandme) in case this helps you and other Chicago combo filers who may run across this in the near future:

Time between initial citizenship non-interview and ROC interview: 6 weeks

Time between ROC interview and seeing online case status of card in production: 1.5 weeks

Hopefully the actual citizenship interview will roll around before too terribly long.... I know, right? ;-)

 

(Or it'll be delayed because Chicago keep systematically schedules "wasted" citizenship interview slots for us combo filers the first time around...)

Time between initial citizenship non-interview and ROC interview: 6 weeks

Time between ROC interview and seeing online case status of card in production: 1.5 weeks

Hopefully the actual citizenship interview will roll around before too terribly long.... I know, right? ;-)

 

(Or it'll be delayed because Chicago keep systematically schedules "wasted" citizenship interview slots for us combo filers the first time around...)

@AK_2014 I think we had the same officer, lol. Mine was Hispanic chubby gentleman, very sweet and understanding. Said the same thing about the case being in Chicago now. So, hopefully, 5-6 weeks it is. 

Maddie the stamps, this is ridiculous you guys. I had to do my state ID the morning before the interview (I had panic attach because my ID expired the week prior on my birthday, and the interview letter stated valid ID )  and they only issued a document until stamp expiration. So I hope i won’t need to have another page in my passport wasted for this🙄🙏🏻🙌🏻 The bureaucracy of this is insane!
