My wife has sent a message to USCIS about her case via her online account and she received the following message: 

Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office

 

I think she is in-line for interview but her status on ELIS is "we have reviewed your finger prints" and on myUSCIS is We are actively reviewing your case. 

 

Anyone has experienced something similar?

Finally some movement! Just got a Case Update Notification e-mail, but nothing has changed yet on the USCIS page. My status is still "We reviewed your biometrics". I just hope the interview is not scheduled for late Dec. or early Jan. when I'm gone for the Holidays...

Did you receive the answer from USCIS instantly, or, if not, how long did it take to hear back from them after your initial message?

I've noticed it takes 12-24 hrs from the time you get the e-mail or text notification before something actually changes on the webpage. Good luck: hopefully you'll have good news soon!

I think it took them a week or so to respond. But most of their responses are system generated ones so don't get your hopes high.

Thank you. That's exactly what happened. 24 hours after the e-mail notification the interview letter was uploaded. Interview is scheduled for January 2, 2018. I will be out of the country, however. Will have to send the letter back and request another interview date...

Thank you. I was able to re-schedule my original appointment with the Washington, DC,  Office by e-mail. I am now waiting for a new interview date.

 

This is the reply I got from my request to the Washington DC Office: 

 

"The interview on January 2, 2018 has been cancelled. The application has been placed back into the scheduling queue to receive a new interview date on or after 1/10/2018. A new notice will be sent once an interview has been scheduled after this date."

read this first.. https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship 

then basically when you get all the documents and fill the forms you can sent it either online or the regular way to the center according to your location!! the payment has to be sent with the documents

Case Is In Line For An Interview, On November 13, 2017, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. How many days does it take to receive the Interview letter ?
