We will probably receive a text or email. That's my question too so I'll ask the August filers. Maybe they can give us some answers.

If you file online the system will let you know which documents you need as you answer the questions. As for the picture, without reviewing the USCIS information packet, you only need a picture if you are applying from outside the USA. Review the USCIS N-400 packet for complete details.

Hi. Just saw your message. My husband is a May filer and he filed by snail mail. 

 

If you go on uscis website, click check your case status you will see a option to sign up for an account. That should show your case status.

Unfortunately, that feature on myUSCIS page doesn't work for a few of us who mailed in our application. Whenever we enter our case #, there's an error message popping up saying that the case # we entered is invalid. I got my official NOA in the mail on 09/08 and everyday since then, I check if my case # works but still no luck up to this day.

I think she meant create an account first before checking the status. I tried doing so but it gave me an error (again) that my email add already exists. Let us know if it works for you if ever you’re going to try it.

I'm a July filer & did paper based filing..in my case 2 days after biometrics was complete the status in USCiS showed Case in line for interview..not sure what it was before never bothered to check..but This Monday to my surprise I recieved the physical notice for my interview for October..I went online that day & checked my case status USCIS still showed ' Case in line for interview '..I don't think you get any notices if u r inline.. I could be wrong but that's my guess..

I would try for an early fingerprint walk-in, but my local office doesn't allow them...  (I tried when getting my GC.)

Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview

The problem I/we are encountering, regardless of having an account or not, is that the case number is not found on their online system. I tried entering all possible way to type the number (including and excluding the asterisk).

I called the USCIS help line yesterday to see if I could go to a different place than the one I was signed to on my notice and to double check that I didn't need to go to the USCIS offices but the near Application Support Center. The agent explained to me that you don't go to your local field office or local USCIS office but that you can go to any Application Support Center to do your biometrics. That it is up to the application center to take you in as a walk-in if they aren't busy. I went right after I got off the phone with them and got lucky that there was no one in line or anyone waiting to be finger printed. So my point is to make sure you aren't going to the local field office instead of the application support center. =]
