Well I called DOS to see if they can tell me any thing about these so called checks that USCIS has us stuck in. After wating for 20 min to speak to a visa specialist....they tell me that they can't help me because we are still in USCIS. They wont know any thing about our process of security checks untill USCIS approves us. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG this is a never ending cycle of getting no where!!!!! Oh well I knew it was a long shot ...but I guess I was trying to have some good hope from some where. For some reason i was under the impression that DOS was the place to call and find out any thing about peoples ongoing security checks. Was the person that helped me completly wrong or how come some people that call DOS are informed if they have cleared these so called checks.

There is a number floating around for DOS. I called them a few times and found out the information I needed about security checks. They even told me that it was a 3 part process and that my fiance had completed two of the security checks and will be finished with the last one that same day. She also told me that it would be sent out that night to the consulate.

Does any one know what number this is?

Here is the number to call the state department

The DOS # is 1-202-663-1225

Press 1

then 1

then 0

to get to a 'visa specialist'

But DOS and USCIS are not connected and do not communicate. DOS does help with NVC cases because NVC is part of the Department of State. USCIS is part of Homeland Security. It may sound crazy but the two departments do not communicate with each other and have their own rules and proceedures to follow.
