I just came across this:

 

DACA Has Changed!

• We are no longer accepting initial requests for DACA, but we will adjudicate initial requests for DACA accepted by Sept. 5, 2017.
• We will no longer approve advance parole requests associated with DACA.
• We are only adjudicating DACA renewal requests received by Oct. 5, 2017, from current beneficiaries whose benefits will expire between Sept. 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018.

I know there was a "loophole" for DACA that they could for example, marry a USC, apply for AP, have a legal entry and adjust status. Now they took that away and it's no longer possible.

They get highly educated once here but many are not having a high education to fit that elusive visa line they are supposed to stand in or they would have.
That's a point and reason not to do the Raise Act.

Seeking a better life = not doing all that great in the past.

If parents rob a bank, do the kids get to keep the money because they were innocent and had become accustomed to a lifestyle. Shocking to me on a website where so many members have spent so much money, time and heartache following the immigration laws, so many members advocate rewarding  breaking the law . My in laws can not even come visit me, because they come from a country with high immigration fraud rates, but somehow stopping illegal immigration makes us racist toward Mexicans. Absurd. The world is upside down

I did mention overstay. Overstay insinuates a legal entry. A legal entry insinuates a different demographic than the other half of the coin who would not qualify for
"a visa line" due to not having money/job/ ties for a tourist visa for example or education for a work visa.

People from all over the world exist who want a better life and escape violence and oppression and there is no visa line to stand in. You are the one who
mentioned Mexico. I am interested in genuine discussion not playing games.

Make things better in their own country. A very talented professor pointed out, that taking the best and brightest from countries actually hurts the country, and does nothing to change the bad conditions in the country

No, because robbing a bank and being here is not compatible.
No one here is advocating breaking any laws. Point to me where that was said.
Mine can't visit either.
I am all for stopping illegal immigration.
My perspective on how to get there is just different than yours.

Yes, I agree. That's one reason I am against the Raise Act and it's stupid limitations. It does not help us and it causes Brain Drain in those countries who lose the best and brightest.

They can go home and remain in their country get petitioned by their spouse/fiance and adjust once here.
Not all have a spouse or fiance.

Point is, they need to stay home and come with a valid visa. I know not every DACA recipient has a USC spouse, that's why I said "for example".

In a nutshell I am for not booting them out if they have been here and become part of society. I am for making sure they have no path to citizenship unless they get in with everyone else. However before it happens I want illegal immigration shut down.  I want massive fines for employers that hire them. I want all resources off with the exception of life saving health care. In other words if they have no reason to come they will not.

 

I don't want another Reagan era repeat. amnesty with a fake promise to stop illegal immigration
