I like this idea.  Lots of people have turned in loved ones for committing crimes.  Why should DACA recipients be exempted from doing that?  You could also allow the parents of adult DACA folks to self-report/self-deport.

Fair enough so just do the free things, cancel DACA, cancel benefits for Illegals, come down hard on Employers, all free and save Billions.

I agree, but not just companies.  Anyone on here who lives in one of the border states can attest to the fact that many Americans hire day workers for manual labor at their homes.  I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of work done by illegal immigrants falls into the category.  Make that cost prohibitive with massive fines and add some mandatory jail time to the equation.  That would sort it out pretty quickly.

Companies are the easiest place to start. make E-Verify mandatory. Big fines for non compliance. Put your neighbor in jail because an illegal mowed his lawn? You can shoot your neighbor and not go to jail. Start with businesses, but that's too upsetting for political reasons. Neither party wants anything to do with it.

I believe are president is doing his best and I believe everything will resolve when daca ends. Hopefully legislation will help daca holders to gain legal status instead of being stuck in limbo with the daca program.

Petition for what visa ? They came because there was no line (visa) for them. The Raise act will only 'raise' undocumented immigrants because it makes it nearly
impossible to meet the requirements.

Same visa they could qualify for if they never came to the US illegally, we are talking about highly educated people, should not have an issue.

Sounds a bit simplistic, I can think of many other reasons, and that logic is questionable.

 

Probably nearly as many reasons as there are people.

I am very much against the stasi tactics of 'turning parents in'. My suggestion was a penalty fee every 6 months or year (as consequence) to get a new case by case assessment
to be allowed to stay here. Use those penalty fees to secure the border. Leave families in tact. You only complain on one side when families are torn apart

by those who send only their children (though most bring them along) but it is all of a sudden ok on the flip side when you want them to leave.
What is it? Keep families together or apart ? Have the state take care of the kids while the parents get send back ?
So much for family values. Have a 14 year old kid to get covered only if he rats out his parents ......you going to take care of him ?
The parents aren't criminals by overstaying for example. If the person commits a crime on top of overstaying then of course they are a criminal.
The immigration law is civil in nature so you can't call them all criminals.

You honestly think most parents bring their kids over to be exploited by the boogeyman  ? Seems to me most are very integrated, in school, decent jobs,
in the military etc.
I bet you some bucks it is to give them a good education, to feed their hungry bellies, to escape violence, in short for a better life.
That is DACA , having met the criteria, not what you deflect it to be, a bunch of crazed parents selling their kids into slavery.
