I have read it, please point me in the right direction if I've done something wrong.  I simply don't understand the discrimination and/or hostility toward one group of immigrants over any other. I support anyone trying to do the right thing by submitting to the lengthy processes of the immigration system. DACA recipients do such a thing, given the limited scope of what is available to them.

You have not done anything wrong. It is ironic that this is an immigration site, and yet, there is so much animosity towards immigrants.

Huh?

Perhaps there is a hidden part of the site we do not have access to.

Total tosh, I am not an American and never will be and have no doubt been here much longer than most of them.

Perhaps that's how you feel, and that's valid. There are many immigrants in America who will always identify more with the nationality of their home country. To most DACA recipients, this may not be their country of birth, but seeing as how the average came under the age of 6... They grew up here during their formative years, they're American by any other definition other.

Precisely. Time has nothing to do with it. American is the flag they pledge allegiance to; America is the only country they know, American are their values. They are Americans, because being Americans is all they know. Some people are that lucky.

It is neither discrimination nor hostility.  They did not wait in line to come here, regardless of whatever line they might be in now.  Their parents brought them across the border illegally.  You and I didn't make that decision for them.  Their parents made that decision.  The bad guys in the situation, the people who put them in this situation, their parents.

You do realize this is a site for legal immigration right?  What is ironic?  I'm sure there are sites out there for illegal immigration, you should find those sites and go help some people.

I stand corrected.  The right word is "hypocritical." Thanks.

Except not by the only definition that gives them legal standing.

For most it is about discrimination and/or hostility. There's really no other way to explain why someone would be against DACA without being discriminant to the people in the program and/or hostile by wanting to tear their families apart and send these people away from the only country they've ever really known all the while through no fault of their own.

There is another way to explain it.  Many people on here support legal immigration, not illegal immigration.  That isn't an emotional argument.
