Original Documents?

I know I have read this tons of times, but I cannot find the answers now. In the guides it says to send your fiance orginal documents for the interview. Does this mean I need to send an actuall birth certificate, plane ticket stubs, the actually letters, etc.? Thanks for your help. I would have taken more time to research but I am trying to get the stuff mailed via DHL today. Thanks!

I would guess that you don't have to send originals of important things like birth certificates or passports, but do send originals of all of your evidence of an ongoing relationship.

I say send originals of everything you have (except for passport). Better safe than sorry. You don't want to risk the VISA getting delayed because you have to send more proof or whatever they wanted. I sent originals of plane ticket stubs, bus passes, receipts of hotel, pictures, etc.

I would say just the opposite. It's the photocopy documentation such as birth and divorce certificates, and passport if that was used as evidence, that the consular officer is most likely to want to verify by comparing to the original from which the photocopy was made.

The visa applicant should already have much of the documentation needed for the relationship - it's the visa applicant's side of the relationship that is of primary concern.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. I will soon be off to send him all the documents, and think I will include my BC.
