Hi all,

My embassy instructions in nairobi for what to bring to the interview (preparing now), include this:

"BIRTH CERTIFICATE: The original and a copy of the birth certificate of each person named in the application is required. Birth records must be presented for all unmarried children under age 21, even if they are not applying for a visa at this time"

I am hoping that means a birth certificate for just the beneficiary as I don;t have any children as accompanying applicants.

Surely they don;t need the petitioners birth ct on top of mine?

Yes it means exactly that :D

just the beneficiary (if children involved beneficiaries)

Some embassies wants petitioners valid id to confirm too (passport copies, residency card copy etc. )

God I thought I was going nuts. No way would I ask my partner to post me original documents!

I will be taking the copy of the pocket which has all her identification documentd anyway.

Thanks :D

I think this covers up.

and as you also add some additional parts from your embassy website.

However don't forget about the evidence for I-134

Thanks! My accountant fiancee will find out all about this form 😂

Good luck for us!

Ds-160 was same as tourist visa, it took me 10-15 minutes actually. Depending on the travel history etc and finding the info it may take up to 1 hour or so.

i-134 for us was easy but some questions may make you want to research (because I answered so many questions here I felt like I already knew what I'm doing)

That's true, just quick questions.

You def know what you are doing ;)

Thanks

My fiance went to a cafe in the village he lives in to put together all of the pictures to print. (and I guess he needed coffee to do it lol) It made me excited! Minus the fact that we have over 7,000 to choose from. I actually had to upgrade my icloud storage! We're making a photo album of roughly 2-300 pictures. I can't imagine the CO will look at all 7,000 pictures. Plus, I'm not paying 700$ to print them all lol BUT AT LEAST MY FIANCE IS FINALLY PRINTING THEM! Makes me feel one step closer.

What are you going to do with 200-300 pictures??

cause I can't imagine CO looking at let alone 200 but even 20 pictures..

Those are estimates based on VJ info and tell us they have mainly gotten to August 5th. We have some awesome scanners/analysts that scan USCIS to get a better idea of where they actually are working at though and right now they have touched to Aug 17. But even those scans don't tell us everything because uscis doesnt update online a lot of the time

And, we haven't gotten scans for today yet! And there's some tinkling of approvals in the August forum so I'm hoping we'll see confirmation and further movement in the scans as well as a slew of mail approvals later in the week.

I think the latest news is there's an approval for the 21st of August :) but we're waiting for Naes to wake up to know if they actually reached that date or if it's just one random case

I am really praying for this!!! I need movement! Its a little sad to admit but yesterday I was a slug... afternoon scan only showed small number of RFEs... I lost all motivation for the day to do anything. I really hope we get some good movement on the scans, I need the energy! And also I need some good news because this morning I found out I have to get a root canal... lol I need a vacation!!! Can't wait until this is all over

I always feel that way on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays, because all they seem to be doing those days is sending out RFEs. But like Naes always says, they're still approving cases too, usually after they've updated poorly or with lots of RFEs, approvals will come in the mail a few days later :)

Yea thats so true, I've noticed that trend as well and it makes sense... I really look forward to Friday night scans and I am SO happy no more freakin holidays!!! BTW someone in August just posted approval from NOA1 Aug 21... hopefully thats their actual receive date!

Edited by L and E
It was actually his notice date.. but someone else just posted with supposed NOA1 of 8/21! really looking forward to those scans!

Me too! AND, it seems that John&Rose are finally getting some resolution to their case. That feels like an important milestone, like finally things are getting to where they're supposed to be. Today is good :)

Absolutely!! His case was honestly giving me some anxiety... I'm really happy for him can't wait to see their approval and it gives me a little peace as well. Today IS good :D
