I think it has a expiration date, I saw mine was 6 months, so I already got it.

Could someone help me on the best way to get the police report? Do i just go to the local police department and request it?

I did through the federal police website, have you tried to find in the one for your country?

It depends on the country, but you can at least ask the local department on how to do it.

Yes, would probably be a good start :) Want to have as much as i can together so that we don't have to wait getting forms completed after our NOA2...

I understand the feeling. I think at least getting ready for the things you can is the best way to go faster. Or at least knowing how to and where to do it beforehand.

good luck!

Depends on the country. For instance my fiancé in Morocco has to do it in the town where he was born. He has to drive an hour to the police station in that town to obtain a report. Pretty crazy

Wow - that is crazy . I was actually born in the UK but moved when i was 8 so i believe if i have read correctly i don't need to get anything from the UK- just where i have lived ever since i was 16... i will contact them tomorrow and hopefully they can do it for me. Feel sorry for him having to drive all that way just for that but hey, whatever it takes right? ;)

Hi naes, do you mind going back to my post and see if we may be forgetting any important info?

And, can we complete DS160 and I134 now, or we need to wait noa2?

Thanks!

You can complete both but,

ds-160 can be completed but cannot submit (or more like should not)

i-134 can be completed but if it takes too long till the interview they may ask for a more recent one (I give mine a 3 month window however I will have more recent pay stubs etc.

I'll check your post in a few minutes. Do you know the page number?

Good, if I remember well that's the same form for tourist visa that I helped my parents to complete not long ago, if it's the same it's easy and it will only take a couple of hours. And about the i134 i really need to check, no idea how long it difficult that is. But thanks for your thoughts.

My post is in the page before this, on 102! Thanks a lot!

Ds-160 was same as tourist visa, it took me 10-15 minutes actually. Depending on the travel history etc and finding the info it may take up to 1 hour or so.

i-134 for us was easy but some questions may make you want to research (because I answered so many questions here I felt like I already knew what I'm doing)

So, can we talk about next steps? Let me know if we are being repetitive. It's so confusing reading a bunch of loose information in this VJ and since we are all at the same processing time it could be helpful. C

What can we do in advance for the process after we get NOA2 and the NVC number that allow us to move foward? I have a list that I put together after reading a few topics here in VJ and in the embassy website for Brazilian cases (don't know that it changes considerably from country to country). Here it goes:

- Form DS 160

- Form I 134 (filled by petitioner)

- Birth certificate original and copies (beneficiary)

- Passport original and copies (beneficiary)

- Police certificate (beneficiary)

- Passport american size photos 2 (beneficiary)

- Passport, resident card and birth certificate copies (petitioner)

- Proof of ongoing relationship, plane tickets and pics after NOA1, or other things.

- Updated intent to marry letter (found here on VJ, but not in my embassy website)

- Statement of marriageable age applicant (found in the embassy website, not in VJ)

And for the medical consult, I found the following information about what to bring to your appointment.

- Passport

- 4 photos american size

- Vaccines for adults: Tdap (tetanus - diphtheria - pertussis), MMR (Measles - mumps - rubella), varicella and influenza.

* Maybe if you have updated exams i think it can be useful, right? And medical records.

Well, big message, let's share information so we can all check if we have everything ready for the next steps 😉

I think this covers up.

and as you also add some additional parts from your embassy website.

However don't forget about the evidence for I-134

Hi all,

My embassy instructions in nairobi for what to bring to the interview (preparing now), include this:

"BIRTH CERTIFICATE: The original and a copy of the birth certificate of each person named in the application is required. Birth records must be presented for all unmarried children under age 21, even if they are not applying for a visa at this time"

I am hoping that means a birth certificate for just the beneficiary as I don;t have any children as accompanying applicants.

Surely they don;t need the petitioners birth ct on top of mine?
