LOL. I had to laugh at this because I have definitely had to do everything and anything involved in this process. Women are more meticulous than men and I'm a perfectionist which is required for something like this, but still I feel ya. Just a tad irritating. Although he is the one paying :).

See, I thought it was just me! I honest to god have to "hold his hand" for everything or he won't do it properly. I said "Babe, you need to get American-sized passport photos for this. 2 inches by 2 inches. Go get it done." He comes back with British-style passport photos. He still needs his police certificate. He has money in savings to pay for it. I offered to send money to help pay for it when he was short. It's been a month. "Oh, I'll make sure to do it tomorrow, I forgot."

I made him a checklist to follow and everything, because I'm a control freak, and he STILL asks me what to do. Ugh, THIS MAN. lol

The estimate works like this in simple explanation:

for example there are 300 people in vj in a month and 25 got their approval fast like 170 days! And most of them got around on average of 200 days. So because most people are around 200, vj won't count the ones that exceeds this (outliers) because there are also people who will never update their timelines.

so right now it still going around July, and when august becomes more with shorter dates the estimate will go shorter.

basically it applies to "most" of the cases, but not all. So my case may be adjudicated I say +- 15 days according to my guess, as august started before vj's estimates.

That is an excellent explanation.  I could never quite figure out how to say it.

I’ll be sure to not ask any more questions here, seems I’ll just get snippy and condescending answers... I’ll just wait and do this all myself. Wow!

I think we were confused and not sure what the question actually was.  It was answered.

You have a September 25 NOA1 and  your estimate is the end of April.  You are at day 148 and 200 is a pretty decent estimate right now.  That will change and adjust as the time goes by.

So, can we talk about next steps? Let me know if we are being repetitive. It's so confusing reading a bunch of loose information in this VJ and since we are all at the same processing time it could be helpful. C

What can we do in advance for the process after we get NOA2 and the NVC number that allow us to move foward? I have a list that I put together after reading a few topics here in VJ and in the embassy website for Brazilian cases (don't know that it changes considerably from country to country). Here it goes:

- Form DS 160

- Form I 134 (filled by petitioner)

- Birth certificate original and copies (beneficiary)

- Passport original and copies (beneficiary)

- Police certificate (beneficiary)

- Passport american size photos 2 (beneficiary)

- Passport, resident card and birth certificate copies (petitioner)

- Proof of ongoing relationship, plane tickets and pics after NOA1, or other things.

- Updated intent to marry letter (found here on VJ, but not in my embassy website)

- Statement of marriageable age applicant (found in the embassy website, not in VJ)

And for the medical consult, I found the following information about what to bring to your appointment.

- Passport

- 4 photos american size

- Vaccines for adults: Tdap (tetanus - diphtheria - pertussis), MMR (Measles - mumps - rubella), varicella and influenza.

* Maybe if you have updated exams i think it can be useful, right? And medical records.

Well, big message, let's share information so we can all check if we have everything ready for the next steps 😉

Don't say that, it's all ok, stay with us, this group is super helpful. Let's just remember that this is a texting environment so we don't actually know what the tone is being settle. Let's give a discount to everything we read.

I think people were just answering your questions and trying to help. Maybe because we are all so anxious and reading someone that haven't found the timeline tool was surprising. Go there and have fun planning and checking! 😉

Is the police certificate something you can get before receiving NOA2, or is it recommended to wait until you receive any specific instructions for it?

I think it has a expiration date, I saw mine was 6 months, so I already got it.

Yes normally you can get it. They have validity period of either 6 months or a year you should check that with the country you're getting it.

for countries you're not returning, 6 month before the interview is good. For the country you're living at the moment it is good to be recent (maybe the most 3 months before the interview or so)

some countries ask for noa1 or a case number proof of what you're applying for, but again you should ask that to where you are getting it from.

It is for the interview. From every country you lived longer than 6 months (some embassies say 1 year) after the age of 16.

If Snippy and condescending mean joking in your language, sure!

you wrote something asking calmly and 5 minutes later it was with full panic. And yes I actually started thinking if there was an answer that made you panic there and searched for the post of admin that says it's deleted.

I personally joke, I recommend humor to everyone it makes you relax.

i also gave you the most accurate answer that can be given.

but if passive aggressive is your way, then you can always ignore the answers :D humor is better for health tho
