just for entertaining:

when I signed up here, my timeline was showing 1st week of January as NOA2 date.

until a few day ago it was March 25, and now it bounced back to March 24th :D

sad for the big jump from jan to march, but happy to win 1 day!! (it's the little things that count right?)

Remember back when we are talking it would be valentines the worst

@ML915 Oh agreed! I try to find the in-between words, there are for example so many excellent adjectives in English and yet I keep saying ”good” and ”bad” when I describe things.

@Naes I see your point. I tried to explain to my fiancé once that Swedish is difficult because it’s not very predictable, for example our ”a” and ”an” are completely random and even proficient Swedish speakers struggle with this. And he was like ”What do you mean? Our a’s and an’s have no logic either” and I was like ... 😄 If you know two or more languages at least you’re usually better at linguistics 😉

I used to teach English and Japanese. And whatever the language is the best way to improve is watching different things in that language and also reading. But not the same thing all the time if you want new vocabulary.

copying the style of an actor or a writer you like and you found similar to your personality also works wonders. That's how babies learn how to speak, by copying. So the more styles you repetitively have access to, the more you'll talk similar to it. (Btw series are better than movies because you are in connection with a style longer and you get used to their different way of saying things and also you would realize similarities.)

english use only 20% of its existing vocabulary. So just try to expose yourself to that level- at a higher altitude obviously because you are not a beginner or anything like that.

like a really simple example watch doctor dramas (yes even greys anatomy style soaps) and you'll learn the analogies and word and styles even without checking a dictionary (btw I never use dictionaries) or law or anything for that matter that you want to get into...

i was really surprised of how confident I was when my fiancé was in hospital. With all the jargon they were using and everyone can keep up with, which I also did! Yay!

I put together this table for myself to find the total costs involved with the K-1 but I figured others might be able to make use of it too. I am from the UK so some of the costs will vary for you, of course, and some of the actions aren't necessary for everyone so you'll need to make some adjustments to find your total cost. Hope it helps!

Glad I could help! Also realised I should probably add I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, which is $410.

I would need to double-check myself, but I think if you file Employment and AOS together, they waive that fee. Granted, I saw that months ago and it may have changed.

Yes it waives.

you only pay for AOS (and if you file together ead or AP you don't pay for those.)

Receiving AOS would mean green card. So yes you can travel with green card but be careful about staying too long.

aos btw takes long right now. So if you plan to travel while waiting you need to get advance parole.
