Hi guys, we've been reading everything but we haven't said anything in this group, so our warmest hello to everyone 😄

We are going to meet up in February 🙌 but as we think the visa will only be finished in june\july, we are already missing each other after this visit next month. We were wondering if I can go from Brazil to the U.S. While we are waiting, we read that I couldn't, but we keep questioning if that information is true, since Is much more easy for me to go then for him to come.

Good luck everyone, soon we'll all be married to the love of our lives!

Btw, any other couple Brazil & US?

Best wishes everyone ;)

We are a same sex couple from USA & Brazil. My fiancé came in twice to USA as a tourist B2. His first visit was when we decided to meet and stayed with me in the USA for a month. Then, we submitted our petition for K1 Sept. 5, 2017. He returned to Brazil with me on Sept. 8 and I stayed there for three weeks. Three weeks later after I returned to USA, my fiancé once again visited me again Oct. 14 and he stayed with me until January 16. He could have stayed in the USA until April if we had known the process will take longer. We were anticipating that we would receive our NO2 this month. It's unfortunate that he had to leave me and separate from me for awhile. The cost to change the return flight is outrageous.  It's been 3 days now since he just left and I totally miss him a lot 😩. But I know time will come and we'll be together again. 😊

On February he will come, a lil bit of sun and carnival to cheer us up! We are just wondering about april, what could be an issue? Like not letting me in or holding me for questioning?

Enjoy!!!

Going through secondary inspection is one possibility, as well as being denied entry. It won't hurt your K-1 case, but obviously it's not the desired result. And don't let me scare you...very few people are denied entry. It's just an abundance of caution when you're that far along in the process.

@geowrian I want to ask something about that I-94 question, I opened a thread and got 1 reply but as it came out I would really like 1 more person's advice.

Unlike many who forgets to put the info.. We ended up putting that info even though I left America by that time.

Do you think this will cause a problem for us, in a way that we should handle it right now? Or we should wait for an rfe (if they even send one for this)?

Now I know not to send anything unless I receive an rfe, but I am wondering because we made a mistake on the form itself.

It's possible they would RFE requesting evidence, but they probably won't. At least that's my take on it....I haven't seen many RFEs for anything having to do with the I-94 on an I-129F.

Thank you. that's how I thought too. And after two confirmations of the same thought+ fiancé saying the same thing.. Now I can stop my overthinking head...

Good luck to us, maybe we'll meet in the embassy here 😊

But ya, this delay is very frustrating, we are really tense about the distance between February and the date that the visa will be ready, right now it has been very hard to be apart. But I think we are all in this boat...

Let's hope they will surprise us with a faster processing time.

Well, I don't think we want to risk any of those situations, this process is already too long and painful. Thank you for all the information provided, it really helped to clear a lil bit!

Good luck to us!

Naes you are the best! Seeing all this movement made me so happy. Hopefully it’s the first indication of a downward trend in waiting times - but I’m not holding my breath :)

I can't wait for the day I will come here to say we are on September :)

But I like my color and don't want to turn purple either so not holding my breath here.

Update of the graphs comparing May and June regarding the length of time from Received to Approved one month later (as to 01/20/2018), this time including July under the same conditions.

As a reminder, in the graphs below I try to compare what happened within the next 190 days after that last day of May, June and July 14th (last day with approvals) received cases. In order to see them clearer I put them together in pairs.

In that time, with a total of 1877, 818 and 243 approved cases (after removing some outliers) respectively:

  • May had a global mean of 175.25 days from Received to Approval date, with a standard deviation of 14.06 days.
  • June had a global mean of 186.05 days from Received to Approval date, with a standard deviation of 9.16 days.
  • July had a global mean of 193.91 days from Received to Approval date, with a standard deviation of 3.28 days.

Even if it doesn't look very good (way less approvals in the same period of time for July and also starting from 185+ days) just remember that, because of the holidays, they haven't worked the same number of days, and more importantly, haven't been very consistent updating approvals, which is why these results only apply to the information it comes from, the unreliable information updated by USCIS.

If they keep the rate of approvals seen in the last days, I believe we'll start seeing a clear improvement in the next one or two months. Let's hope!

Lastly, the trend line for the average processing time of all cases received every considered day and approved within the next 204 days, as to 01/20/2018.

This time I have added some extra data in case you're interested (number of approved cases, number of received cases and percentage of approved cases (out of received)). As before, note that only updated cases could be considered.

As expected it's still too soon for a downward trend, but hopefully we'll start seeing some change by next month!

And June filers are already 200+ days. NVC right now is taking about 40 days (although not for everyone). So when you are planning ahead keep all these in mind and calculate as if K1 will finish in 10-12 months.

When you say calculate as if K1 will finish in 10-12 months. What do you mean? You're saying we should plan to get our approvals in 10-12 months or until our fiances arrive in the country? Because the approvals are taking just over 6 months from what I could tell which is why I am asking clarification.

Approvals are around 190days to 220 right now so yeah 7-8 months (but we also finally saw some 185 days!!) all fingers crossed for it to stay at 180s

K1 as in noa1 to visa on hand. (But this can get longer on personal level, embassy business or AP). This approvals are called  I-129f petition.

As the end of January approaches, I'm starting to get so antsy. The closer I get to the "finish line," the more impatient I get.

I know another 2-3 months isn't really that bad. I know the process moves a lot quicker in the UK. But darn it, I just want to get married already!

I've noticed that processing times are picking back up, and my own timeline currently has an estimation of NOA2 between 29 March and 2 April. I'm just thinking about how awesome it would be to get NOA2 a little "early" on my birthday, which is 22 March! A girl can dream, right?

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, incoherent post. I've just got a lot of pent-up, nervous energy.
