Sep 7 NOA 1 here.  Grace is in the Philippines.  Hoping to connect with others in the Philippines on roughly the same schedule.  My fiancee is nervous to go to Manila alone for the medical and interview later so connecting with someone else going through at the same time would be great.

Good luck to everyone in your journeys!

Going to Manila can be nerve racking for a Filipino that may not have been out of her province before. That's where you come in. Just make sure you plan, plan and plan some more. Make all the arrangements online and give her the information that she can print out.  The process seems daunting but it really isn't that bad. Head on over to the sub-forum and introduce yourself and meet some others that are processing and you can learn from their mistakes. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Also, to help you here is a website for all that is needed with step by step instructions to complete your K-1 visa at USEM: http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/index.html  from an expert that has helped thousands pass thier interview at USEM.

Others who are reading this post find your sub-forum for your country here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/100-regional-discussion/

Thanks Greenbaum.  I've actually been through the process before (unfortunately) and just watching for folks who might be there around the same time.  I'm going back in a couple of months and we'll walk everything, check hotels, etc.

She's not a fan of Manila but I've been there with her once and we'll be there at least 2 more times, walking the area.  But if there is another pinay who's going around the same time frame, 2 girls meeting up in Manila and doing the process together might be easier for both.

Best regards.

Sure it is, and then you read something or remember to something and start panicking if you did it right or should have you done it differently :) My advice is to try to forget about it, and sign up for the myUSCIS and opt in for e-mail or text notifications. In this way you are not checking every week the case status

thats exactly what im doing over thinking and  checking my tracking number like a crazy person so ive been trying to hang out with friends to ease my mind

Android and Apple apps are linked in my signature below and once you install and add your information then if there is any movement on your case it will be text to you. Eliminates the need to drive yourself crazy.

No one knows but with the fluctuation of immigration now there can be a whole host of reasons. Just keep in mind that you must have patience to survive.

Nerve wracking, right? Just trying to take our minds off it and thing about other things (like how to plan a wedding on short notice!).  Even though it'll take long, I'm just hoping this is the longest wait and once we get past NOA2, things go smoothly for all of us!

Over the years the time generally fluctuates up and down, getting up to 6 months, give or take, for the NOA 2, then dropping down to around 3 months.  It seems their standard crew isn't quite enough to handle the load coming in, so the times grow, then they move staff to focus on the K-1 and the backlog drops quickly, ultimately building back up.  For years it goes up and down and up and down.  I've watched it off and on for around 6 years now.  Those who send petitions when the backlog is at 3 months are sometimes very disappointed when the times grow, and some see it go the other way, surprised when the expect 6 then the times drop quickly.  Those counting on 5 months right now could see 6, or could see 3.  I'd always suggest that folks plan 6 months, then be happy if it's faster.  We tell people 5 months now but who knows if the processing times will stay the same or increase or decrease.  5 months is likely wrong for those filing now, but impossible to tell which way things will go.  It's rough thinking 150 days right now.. but it could get worse (I've seen it happen).

Just sit back, try to stay busy doing other things.  In the scheme of life, these few months might be painful right now but just a bump in a road that hopefully goes on and on for years.  Frankly I was "saved" from a bad deal years ago when my fiancee's true colors came out mid-process.  I was lucky the process was over 4 months because that's when the truth came out.  I've learned the value of patience.

Best of luck to everyone!
