Day 224.  VJ Timeline moved to December 24th.

It is 7:00 in California and the adjudicators are taking showers and drinking coffee.  Even they dont know what a great day this is going to be for some of us.

Never lose the faith.  The process sucks but the reason for it is amazing.  As yesterday was MLK DAY, I think we should honor him with a few appropriate quotes as we start a new week...

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

"We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope."

Let's go get some approvals today!

Guys i got my noa1 on 29th September 2017. My VJ timeline says April 14 but when do you think i will get my k1?.

I had previously planned for a july wedding. but now i need to look at another date and also i have to look at flight tickets and have to see about resigning my current job.

Too much pressure on all sides and am going crazy with this process.

Any thoughts is much appreciated. :(

That looks like a correct estimate and even later maybe if they don't speed up.

i would definitely chane the wedding date though just to reduce the stress (this is just an advice- in September filer and just changed wedding date from July 28. Because I don't need additional stress at the moment)

also I wouldn't set anything in stone especially ticketwise before visa on hand.

That's what I'm doing too. But don't be sad please. Firstly you'll be less stressed. And there will be the guarantee of no ones ticket going to waste. I'm trying to think positively about it. I saw people having to change it the last minute, it is better to be cautious this early :)

and who knows if things go faster, you'll have more relaxed time to actually plan it ;)

I think mid august is still soon? But that is my two cents on the topic. Also you could have a modest courthouse wedding and do your fancy wedding at a later time after you filed AOS or something. So you would have time to plan and organize so it wouldn't be that stressful.

or do it how we do:

have a wedding with just the 2 of you once you get the visa and enter (ASAP so you get the work permit sooner), and plan the big wedding with all guests for fall or so.. then you have two advantages: you don't have to worry, once you move there you have enough time to plan, get the ideas together, go for test eating, find the right bakery etc :)

our big day will be oct 20 (one day after my birthday) and the small wedding once I fly over after VOH

Oh man! Yes I’m also considering the small courthouse thing, then bigger US ceremony over Christmas, but that makes 3 for us too since we want to do one in Ghana after things settle down. Who the heck is paying for all this?
