Hey--feeling kind of new after reading that last post....virgins/untouched/NVC?  Where can I find the lingo dictionary ha ha.  I'm imagining virgins are people that never were asked for more info to plead their case?  The numbers for those dates in September are how many awaiting a letter of approval I take it?

thanks for any insight :)

I should make one hehe

yep you're right.

virgin (I made this up) = status "case received" never been touched

Touched usually means there was some sort of update to the case, it can be a name update or an rfe or anything that caused status to change.

NVC is national visa center, where your application goes after you get your noa2. And they transit the cases to embassies.

I'm hoping that he will be here by June.  I want to have the wedding at my university in August - before the fall semester starts, so I hope it works out!

He sends me these beautiful wedding videos when he's feeling romantic and he doesn't realize it stresses me to no end because there is no way we'll have the time/money to pull any of that off! :lol:

Fingers crossed that you're able to have your August wedding! 😊

Aww, that's so sweet! But I know how you feel! With my fiancè, he seems pretty chilled that everything will work out. I'm the only one stressing out over NOA2 processing times etc!

Happy Sunday, all! Here in Pittsburgh, we're having some insane weather! Lots of flooding, ice, AND six inches of snow! It's a "good" distraction from this hectic process. An opportunity to go out and help the community feels really good, and it's getting me out of my own head.

Time is really starting to feel like it's flying. My case has reached 125 days since NOA1, so I would venture to guess that I'm about 2/3rds of the way to approval! My fiancé and I have almost enough money saved to pay for the visa application fee (MVR fee?) through the DoS, medical, two trips to London, and one-way ticket. (Have I mentioned how expensive it is to fly to Pittsburgh???) I've got my co-sponsor lined up, paperwork in order, and have planned about 90% of my fiancé's trips to London, because I am an anxiety-ridden control freak.

Having to push the date of my wedding back has been an absolute blessing. I feel like I can breathe, properly plan things, and actually be able to afford the things that we want and need to. The visa and legal process is way more important than the date my SO gets here. I'm anticipating my courthouse marriage to be in July, considering processing times, and I'm pretty set on keeping our "second wedding" to the 7th of October.

I was doing some reading and found this on the USCIS website:

Affidavit of Support For Fiancé(e), Spouse, or Child as a “K” Nonimmigrant

If your relative is either a “K-1” fiancé(e), a “K-3” spouse, or a “K-2” or “K-4” child of fiancé(e) or spouse, you do not need to submit an affidavit of support at the time you file your Form I-129F petition. Instead, you should submit an affidavit of support at the time that your fiancé(e), spouse, or child adjusts status to permanent resident after coming to the United States.

So this means none of us K visa filers have to worry about the Affidavit of Support until after we enter the US? Can someone more knowledgable than myself confirm this please because I read an earlier post that someone's lawyer advised them to take the form I-134 with them to the interview.

No I-134 is provided with the I-129F. The beneficiary will present the I-134 at the interview (if requested...not all COs ask for this).

An I-864 is sent with AOS.

The I-129F and AOS is handled by USCIS, so the above text is technically correct as it is from USCIS, but misleading as the visa itself is handled by DOS.

For a second there you had me thinking the I-134 needed to be sent to USCIS alongside our initial I-129F packet... Thanks for clarifying!

HI September’s fillers!!! Happy to know than the they started with July already! I received my Noa1 on Sept 05. Can somebody please tell me when it’s my estimate date for NOA2? Because I can’t track it from here!    Thanks in advance!

Hey there! My NOA1 is Sept. 27,2017 and I don't expect to hear anything back if not end of Feb. which marks 5 months from application then it might not be mid March or early April the latest (fingers crossed) as most cases now from June waited past 7 months for their NOA2, some RFEs. Once you received NOA2, then another waiting game for NVC to receive your case and acquire your case # which at an average now is taking about 45 days. Once you get your case # then it's a ll a piece of cake from there, file visa app, schedule medical and interview and VOH all in all should only take about a month or less depending on how your planning to schedule the rest of the process, put in mind though that once they approved your petition (NOA2), you will only be given about 4 months to finish everything and POE which in some cases due to a heavy wait on case #s they run short of time, but that can be extended by request per my understanding. Hope this helps and have a great day! Just hang in there, days are going by pretty fast so in no time our time will come. God bless! :)

Cool :) Let us know what they are going to tell him. We are on day 123 too (or 126) Notice date vs received date. Btw I need to follow your timeline. Hope it's not a problem :) At least I am sure (based on your work u thrown in here) you would update it after NOA2.
