September filers.. if you were to hazard a guess at when the whole process would be done, what would you say?

I was hoping to plan my wedding for late june.. but seeing as the k1 visa process is slower now, I think that may be too early and a risky thing to do. When are you guys planning to get married?

I'm hoping that he will be here by June.  I want to have the wedding at my university in August - before the fall semester starts, so I hope it works out!

He sends me these beautiful wedding videos when he's feeling romantic and he doesn't realize it stresses me to no end because there is no way we'll have the time/money to pull any of that off! :lol:

Greetings from Thailand.

Just wanted to say Hello and Happy New Year!

My case was recieved since 25 September.

I am now waiting for NOA2 with you guys.

Hopefully, we can make it..😊

Yes we will! The power of prayers is strong, believe me. We are blessed! Just think about this, we are halfway through the process and days are going by so fast. As I lurk around the Juners forum, I see people getting approvals more each day and that makes me happy. Also, to know that they are starting on July cases is even more exciting! We'll soon get the good news we all deserve. Patience is a virtue, just believe and have faith. :)

Hello everyone, can someone please tell me more about the affidavit of support, I.e. exactly when the form needs to be submitted and what the requirements are? As I posted before, my fiancée is staying with me until the process is over and we fly back together, so need to know if this will cause us any trouble

To all that are getting updates on their case, please do not forget to fill in/update your timelines as well, it helps all of us to see the activity frequency that is happening with USCIS. Best wishes to all and good luck! More good news coming our way but for now tax returns are also coming our way! :)

I ask my lawyer what do I need after I am receiving noa2  ....I was thinking will be good to share with you guys too in case someone had the same question....

"Here's a list of things to give you an idea of what the embassy will be waiting for him to have in his hands when he walks into the interview:

  • Passport
  • ORIGINAL Birth Certificate
  • IF MORE THAN ONE YEAR PASSES FROM TIME OF HIS LAST Clearance Certificate, he will need another issued certificate like this FROM EVERY COUNTRY HE HAS EVER RESIDED IN FOR OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE TURNING 16 YEARS OLD.
  • Before the interview: Go to www.ustraveldocs.com once he gets the interview notice to complete his registration for passport with visa delivery for after his interview
  • Seven (6) passport size COLOR NON-GLOSSY photographs ; Two are for the interview, Four are for later on to be taken to his medical examination
  • Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, signed by you.
  • Income Tax Returns (FULL, EVERY SINGLE PAGE, including addendums) for the last 3 years, personal and/or business
  • W-2 Forms and/or 1099 Forms, whichever applies, for the last 3 years
  • Copies of bank statements for the last 3 months (recent at the time when he goes to interview)
  • Confirmation Page of Online Application DS-160, which is done after his case is approved and transferred to the embassy.
  • Letter from the consulate that confirms they have received this case, once that arrives.
  • Medical Examination (after he knows his appointment date) sealed results "

I would add an updated letter of intent from the petitioner.

Thanks for sharing. That said, please note that all off the above is embassy specific. While many items are required for every embassy, some require items not on this list and others don't require some item on it.

For instance, India is really strict on the I-134. They want detailed tax returns for the past 3 years. Other embassies only want 1 year or even none in some cases. Others yet don't even request the I-134 (except maybe in rare cases). Another example is that some embassies require proof of being free to marry (i.e. a CENOMAR in Philippines). Some medical facilities send the results to the embassy on their own, and others use a sealed packet that can be hand delivered by the applicant.

Police certificates have a 1 year validity, but will still be accepted later if one has not returned to the country since the previous ones were issued.

The bank statements and such would only be if using assets to supplement income...otherwise it's optional.

@Naes, I was looking at the recently scanned dates and was wondering how some cases are approved so fast (as in a month or two) compared to the rest of the applicants. For example, there is a July applicant who was approved in August, and how there is a November applicant who has been approved already.

Those tend to be expedited cases involving active military. I did a lot of timeline searching of those short cases, and found that it is almost entirely armed service members.

If you go to “Immigration Timelines” in the navigation, you can find a link to enter info for your timeline. Once you enter your NOA1 date you can get a NOA2 estimate, but keep in mind it’s not entirely accurate!

Hey--feeling kind of new after reading that last post....virgins/untouched/NVC?  Where can I find the lingo dictionary ha ha.  I'm imagining virgins are people that never were asked for more info to plead their case?  The numbers for those dates in September are how many awaiting a letter of approval I take it?

thanks for any insight :)
