Hi everyone. I am a September filer from India. I have been following VJ for a while and finally decided to join the discussions.

It looks like July is indeed moving and 3 cases have been approved  

Hope they start moving quickly now....

I booked my one way ticket already (Sep 23!) so I hope to get my visa by August.

we are also having our big wedding in October!

flights are not booked for me or the party... but I think that's realistic.

 

when we applied in sept, we thought that we'd have our wedding in march HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

thank god I didn't book the venue!!

My fiancé and I had planned for a late-May wedding. We've now moved our reception to September/October, and are planning on a courthouse wedding whenever he gets here. Planning anything for June or even July would be risky.

I have 2 other "real-life" friends going through the K-1 process as well, and everyone is simply planning to go to the courthouse to be legally married, and are going to plan a nice reception for later on. There are too many moving pieces to set anything in stone. I was lucky to be working with a venue that would allow me to move my date and not lose the money I have already paid. I wouldn't wish the added stress of hoping to complete this process before a set wedding date on anyone.

 

Right now, I'm also leaning towards changing my propsed wedding date to October. June seems unrealistic now and it's not worth the risk!

My process will also be with the UK embassy. I heard that things go much quicker when the case gets to London.. but we shall see.

You're right.. not being able to have a set date is incredibly stressful, so I understand why many go down the courthouse route.

I'm thinking of moving my proposed wedding date to October too -- seems like a much safer option right now!

You're right, August is always such an expensive month for plane tickets. So I was hoping to avoid that month to keep prices down for guests. Yes, I think we will have our visas by August. Good luck with everything !

I was hoping to plan my wedding for late june.. but seeing as the k1 visa process is slower now, I think that may be too early and a risky thing to do. When are you guys planning to get married?

We have planned our wedding in July..but looking at the speed at which the things are moving i might have to postpone it.

Been in a long distance relationship for 3 years now and i badly wanna get this over with!!

we are in the same boat, 3 years on NYE

 

I think the july wedding is a bit tight, if you have family fly in you should think of postponing it early enough.

just to be on the save side!

 

if you are one of the lucky ones, your case may be touched sometime mid march, if not... it can be sometime in may!

plus then the time from NVC (up to 6-7 weeks now), plus then the medical, embassy appointment etc...

I know how you feel! The process is long and frustrating, but will be soo worth it in the end!

 

Yes, things seem to be going super slowly at the moment, but I'm glad they've started July cases now. Let's hope that things speed up from now on! 😊

Yes! we are thinking of moving it to either August or September!

Am keeping my fingers crossed! hopefully they will start September by March!

But it looks like there are not that many petitioners from India..hopefully that will speed up the Embassy part....

Yes it gonna be sooo worth it!!

Processing is always slow in December and January due to the holidays! Hopefully they will start the work at full-steam now!

there is a website where you can check the speed, or how many days you have to wait for an appointment. so that should help also

Note that those times do not apply to K class visas:
