This is going to be a really dumb question, probably, but it's worth asking.

Should I be planning on attending my fiancé's interview? I've been seeing TONS of people talking about traveling for theirs. It's something I would be thrilled to do, in theory, but in order to do that, my plane ticket would probably cost me about $800. I guess I need to know whether to be selling a kidney at this point or not.

No need to attend if you believe your case is strong. Most are getting approved so we will tell you it's not necessary. If you case is weak, then you may want to attend.

Some of us attended for our curiosity and the other reason is we wanted to support our future wife. It's a personal choice but would highly recommend going as the experience is something else. Just to see the sea of people trying to get a visa for whatever reason is a daunting task for the Embassy. You'll appreciate why you are asked to submit all the documents that you did.

Do y'all think my process will be done before August? I was hoping to attend the interview at manila embassy if approved, but do y'all think it will be before August? What are the chances the process will taking longer than August?

I think the NOA2's should come between March-End of April, some possibly May! But...the process afterwards for Interview at Embassy etc shouldn't take so long.

So August seems realistic to me

I sure hope so. My fiancé and I already bought tickets to fly to the US at the end of  August and a marriage date of early September have already been set. We gave ourselves enough time to get this done and I'm still confident, but I'm a tiny bit nervous. I'm counting on the embassy process going fast since I've read only positive reviews for the Seoul embassy where my case is going.

Hey Sept people! (and any potentially knowledgeable lukers)  I had a question about travel permission out of the country once you have gotten married and are doing all the necessary steps/paperwork for residency/work visa.  My future hubby's brother is getting married in September and I wasn't sure if he would even be able to go to the wedding.  By that time he should be in the states and married to me by my calculation.  I just wasn't sure if anyone knows how long it takes after you get married to get permission to travel back to your native country (in his case Spain).

Any info appreciated!

My brother got marry in July 2016 and apply in August for her green card. His wife is from Austria got her green card in February 2017. They got a delay because they write wrong the bday if not she will get a little bit sooner her green card. Usually is 5-6 months to get the green card from what I heard lately but miracles still can happen.

He will apply to ap(advance parole) at the same time with AOS. this when approved gives the permission to travel outside of US while waiting for the AOS to get approved. I don't know how it is looking at the moment but I believe it is around 3-4 months normally.

That's about right. No RFE/RFIE here and took 106 days from AOS received to EAD+AP arrival (well, expected delivery according to Informed Delivery...). YMMV, but 3-4 months is a fair estimate.

Hello from London! ☺

This wait for the NOA2 is tough. Do you think it's possible we could receive our NOA2s at the end of January or in February.. or is it likely to be later than that? Praying that we hear back soon!

Nope. They didn't even start july
