I'm just trying to be hopeful in general. Maybe they'll open another center and have cases moved until they catch up. I guess you really just never know. I just truly hope that we are waiting because the backup of people wanting to marry is genuwine. It's nerve wracking that our future is in the palms of a few folks working with the government. But I'll just keep praying and Skyping lol

Hehe exactly same :)

I don't want too much negativity cause it will just burden all of us even more than this process already does. I'm thinking of 180 days and that nvc crisis will come down to normal soon. And I won't be moving my lovely wedding venue ( @LizM yes it didn't get damage on the fire yet!!! Going next week to Ventura to check everything and help some!)

Happy Sunday, all! I'm still feeling sick from anxiety over the wait times, but continuing to plan my wedding is helping! Yesterday, my sisters and I went bridesmaid dress shopping, and picked a beautiful dress for them to wear. I can't wait for our Alice in Wonderland-inspired wedding.

I'm also preparing an expedite letter to take to the Pittsburgh USCIS office in case of the worst-case scenario happening. After speaking to an immigration lawyer, some friends in the justice system, and consulting many online resources, the consensus was that it wouldn't hurt to apply for expediting based on financial loss (since our wedding plans are set in stone and 50% paid for at this point). I don't plan to file the request unless our timeline hits the end of March. I don't want to be "that person" that files for a seemingly ridiculous reason, but as someone barely above the poverty line, and just out of college, I really cannot afford to not have this wedding. I stand to lose a significant amount of money.

I almost feel guilty even drafting this letter, because I know it's hard for all of us, and we're all in the same boat, along with thousands of others. I don't feel more or less deserving of a quick approval. I'm praying for a miracle for us all, because this wait time is ridiculous. December 11th marked 3 months since NOA1 for my love and I. I won't get to visit again before he comes here for good. I'd like to hope that it's possible for him to be here in another 3 months, because I haven't seen him since October, and the thought of having to go until mere weeks before our wedding to be together sucks.

Maybe it's always been this way. If not, it might be the many things happening in the US right now. Mostly bad things

I'm not sure how you know of "bad" things happening in US right now, but was only looking for any sources related to topic.

I wonder if USCIS restructuring their procedures and stopped processing everything until new procedures are in place?

Does anyone know when the last approval was? Is there a way to see a possible trend? I haven't seen anyone post anything about being approved since nearly June or even as far back as May .

Noa1 June 19 is the latest date at the moment. Follow june filers for updates.

Perhaps the news. How do you not know about the US being on a forum pretty much about it?

Also, that's possible with the new president in place. He's wary about immigration, after all -_-

Because I have set-in-stone wedding plans, I just got off the phone with USCIS Customer Service. I was able to submit an expedite request over the phone. I am ready to send proof upon request to USCIS officers. I'm just praying that this goes well.

I am praying for all of us here. I wish the best for everyone. (L)

Happy holidays to everyone! May our gifts be good results on our cases!

I really hope this works out for you! I just can't help but think it's not fair to those who have had to wait making any plans. All of us could make set in stone wedding plans and create an expedite request for financial loss no? Let us know how it goes and good luck! ^_^

I really struggled with actually going through with it. It kept me up at night because I know how many people are waiting. This whole process is so unfair to us all, and I wish I could be in charge and sped everyone’s cases up.

We booked our venue a year in advance. Then I just lost my job a week ago, and am supposed to be starting a new position after the 1st of January. So money is tight.

I will let everyone know how it goes. If they give me any indication of processing trends, I’ll inform everyone. I’d like to hope that if my case goes well, I can help everyone here.

I called today to expedite my case for medical conditions. I've been debating on it for a while now. I've been going through some things and having surgeries here and there that prevent me from working which then falls into financial loss so who knows. I personally am not sure it's that severe to qualify but as my fiancé and I say, it's worth a shot. Could catch someone on a good day!

That's basically why I called to expedite my case. In the end, we have to worry about ourselves. The system is broken, and we just need to do what we can for our own, personal circumstances. I hope that it works out for you. Just make sure to provide them with proof. Wishing you the best of luck!

Alright. Well, I do wish any individual the best of luck. But honestly it seems pretty frivolous (sorry for being blunt!)...a cardinal rule is not to make plans that you are unable to change until the visa is in hand. Violating this rule is not a reason for your case to be handled faster, and neither is a job loss.
