It's not just about because of the marriage fraud, but also because of the San Bernadino CA shooting.

Because of this, a thorough review and extensive background screening and security check is needed for the US to be safe. It feels like Fiancé posed a mark for being a terrorist.

The Las Vegas Massacre shooting, the Filipina girlfriend of the shooter, an Australian citizen  immigrated to United States, was a person of interest when she left the country to the Philippines at the time the attack happened. This may not be a K1 related but we know that most K1s come from the Philippines and they are being scrutinized closely. I am Filipino and my fiancé is Brazilian. But I have to say that some of the Filipinas I've known have divorced their American husband after getting their green card and it just seems odd to me..it is a shame. Is it for love or for GC? 😂😂😂 And you know what, it's not really a fraud because they came in legally with the K1 process.

The fraud that I've seen was actually Military guys trying to marry foreigners for pay. I've seen a lot of these happened when I was in the military.

Can't believe someone going through all of this and then ask for a divorce, that's bizarre! Or using this system to fraud a marriage just to have a GC

And what's the story with the military? Why it's a good deal to marry a foreingner?

We filed on the 8th so I'm patiently waiting and praying for any day now...!

Aww!!!

I'm so envious! I wish my time was soon, I probably have a few weeks still!

I used to live in southeast of England (i.e. London).

But recently moved way up in the north!

Good luck to you!!

For me if you deceive someone into believing you love them but deep down u are just looking after a GC this is fraud, despite going to the USA legally. So because of those terrorists ( and America also has national terrorists) and people without character we pay the price .

Just a reminder:

Guys and Gals, just remember the K-1 is just one way to the US. There is also CR1/IR1. If for any reason you have the urge to get married ASAP or due to any other circumstance, you can withdraw K-1 at any time. Just putting it out there for those who maybe planned and paid for important events (such as a wedding) before filing for the K-1 and realized how long the process was afterwards. The worst thing to happen will be you start from the beginning (more time & money) but you will still have your sanity which is most important :)

Please someone help me. I'm a September filler no1 September 18th. How soon can i start getting the needed documents? My fiance lives in Thailand I am visiting him again end of this month. I was wondering if I can take my employers letter and other documents to him? Or do they need the most recent documents? Does the employer need to write a date on the letter? Please someone help me. And also help me with list of the exact documents I need. Do I need a letter from my bank? I'm just so confused 😣
