Oh, you are the American citizen ...they don't  care much about you...hehe... They care about your Alien fiance . So don't worry. My fiancee has started her own business now but she lives with her parents and we are gonna live there. If my consulate officer asks something I will simply tell them her parents help her since she lives with them

. Do you live with your parents?

Well it's good that they don't care much about me right now, because I'm a real mess, haha! I do still live with my parents, which is a real blessing. I just graduated from university a few months ago, so I'm "renting" from them so I can pay my student loans.

Look, I wanna tell you a tip. Send your fiance proof that you live with your parents and your parents own the property or rent it if that is the case. Also send your fiance a statement from you and from your parents testifying your fiance is gonna live with you at your parents' house. Attach to it the property document showing your parents own it or the rent contract showing your parents are the tenants and if you have a bigger under your name  , it can be something from your college maybe the fee bill or something... This will proof your fiance is going to live with you guys. I am telling you this as an extra mile because in London the consulate officer required a proof like this and the poor guy didn't have it. So walk this extra mile :) besides all of this, add your co sponsor's bank extract . :)

I honestly cannot thank you enough for this information, and your support right now! It's been such a bad day, and I'm so happy to encounter someone who is nice and helpful. I'll make sure I gather all of that stuff up and send it with the form. You're seriously making my day right now.

does the app give notifications that the website doesn't?

Nothing can give any notifications that website doesn't. All the tools are getting their information from the website.

Why did the security check take so long?

They don't give that explanation. Just say it was security checks pending.

It's a pleasure to help you :) look , let me create a check list of the things you must provide :

1- your i-134 ( you put unemployed but provide the docs as if you weren't.)

2- last tax return

3- bank statement ( showing how much money did you get for the last year for example, try to include any information about your credit, but this one is not a must )

4- last three pay stubs

5- a letter from your ex employer ( try to talk to them so they can provide all info as far as your former job, including how long you had worked there )

6- any bill under your name showing your address

7 - a letter testifying that you live with your parents and your fiance is gonna live with you ( sign and date)

-8- your passport and birth certificate copy.

Now your co sponsor ( it's gonna be really a must now):

9- the form i-134

10- last tax return ( it's gonna show your father's income and your mother's.)

11- your dad's w2

12- bank statement

13- last three pay stubs

14- letter from his employer

15- a letter testifying you live with them and your fiance is gonna live there as well, attach a copy of the property ownership showing their names . Your parents must sign and date

16- your father's birth certificate and passport ( if he is born and raised over there , send both birth certificate and passport copy )

Well.. that's it... Hahaha.. I hope I haven't forgotten anything. Sorry if I did any mistake.. sorry if It seems too much, but it's better safe than sorry u know ? :)

What did you say when they asked purpose of visit?

I told them I was going to visit friends and they didn't ask anything else. I was unemployed at the time too and it didn't cause any issues.

Hopefully it goes ok for you.

Some of this seems a bit much. Are you just going with the more is better flow? Just curious. Or is because someone is now unemployed i guess they'd need more proof? Just curious because I have just about everything but I won't ask my mom for her bank statement. I just feel that's personal. Owning a home, paystubs, taxes, letter from employer, are what I'm pretty sorting out. Oh and letter of intent to live with her. We actually are moving In with her when he comes. Luckily she has a two family house and uses one side as a guest house so sorry guests we are taking it over lol until we figure out where we want to plant ourselves. My mom is an engineer and my fiancé is an engineer so she wants to try and get him with her company. Works for me! I hope....

I have just graduated in law school. So I tend to go an extra mile when it comes to arranging paperwork. I also understand I have just one shot , so Id better have all docs with me in case they require something out of the blue .

Yeah absolutely.. I also think this site can make a person crazy lol! I was reading old cases who were barely asked anything and  only some evidence looked at. To other cases who needed so much proof. I wish there was just a standard protocol. Seems unfair to go in blind sided. Especially when you're just trying to be with someone you love!

I feel the same. This process drives anyone crazy ... But sometimes the hint is to get to know your local consulate. Mine is in Brazil , so here things tend to flow a little bit smoother, there are not  many bumps in the road as you can find it for instance in Manila. So the secret is to communicate with your local consulate , ask them their own requirements, hear from people with the same consulate .
