Think that you need 15 days for NVC number, 5 days to get to your embassy, 45 days to your interview and 15 to get your visa done. And it looks like there is not many options for the interview days, for what in tracking it looks like 2/3 days in the beginning of each month and other 2/3 days in the end.

All said, I think your plan is audacious but who knows, maybe possible! Let's hope for may! My date is april 1st and we hope to get in March 😁

Well.. here with Brazilian consulate things are fast. Usually from what has happened to some of my acquaintances it's being 30 days till you schedule your interview after noa2, rdj.. If I get the noa2 by march 15 I can expect based on the current situation an interview by the end of April. There is a date on April 24. And then here in Brazil you get the passport with your visa within 3 to 7 days tops.

Really? I heard you received the passport in 2 weeks! Good news then!! And yes, our embassy seems easy from the reviews, I remember my b1/b2 interview and was pretty basic.

Yes ... Visitor visa is more difficult. I have it but only because back then I was in college , almost graduating , doing internship and working. But even so, so many people are denied . But yes... If I got the noa2 by mid march I think We can get married in may.

Hey everybody! A silent stalker from Germany here ;)  September 22 filer! Can't wait for our case to be FINALLY approved...hopefully VERY soon. I have a questions regarding the police certificate: I studied in the states for almost 1 1/2 years from 01/2014 to 06/2015) - but I was always registered in Germany. Do I still need a police certificate. I read somewhere that you would only need it if you lived in a country for over a year AND were registered in that country.

Any former US students out here? I am so confused right now, HELP :)

Hi! I am in the same boat.

You do not need a police certificate from US.

In your case, just Germany.

Of course! I was worried about that too. I think you dont need it because US side already does a background check on you.

Good luck :)

I think that if you weren‘t registered, then they won‘t even have a police file for you. I think it only means where your main residence is. So if you were in the us, but didnt work there and have a residency registered and are still registered in germany, then you wouldn‘t need one.

I‘m from germany as well and went to school in south korea.. but I was still registered in germany, because I lived in an airbnb and didn‘t have a place or bank account or ANYTHING bound to my name at all in korea, so there isn‘t really any trace of me back in korea other than my passport stamps.

TL;DR: I wouldn‘t sweat it until you paid rent for your own place registered to your name or worked or anything 😂

Did you sign and date the letter of intents? I'm debating when to get them signed and dated...

Not sure whether to do it now when he sends all the other documents to me or to wait until approved?

yes i have actually prepared them with today's date... i leave one set (petitioner and beneficiary) with my mister, and the same original set i also take home for interview whenever that will be. i think if it's recent (i'd assume 1-3 months is recent) and not 180 days old or older (HAAAAA), it should be fine...

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024
