I thought I was the only one! I am paying off on my dress too, but already found the one I wanted to wear :) I also have found the venue and have our colors, decorations (may need to work on them through the waiting game)! So Exciting!!!!

i think you should share some ideas so you can continue to dream a bit more about your special day and we can all dream with you :D

what kind of venue? how many guests? what kind of dress do you have on your mind? did you try it on yet or just saw in pix?

Haha True! Well I found my dress while on a trip to Mexico. It was the fourth dress I had tried on ( I tried 3 at David's Bridal in Texas) and I just knew it when I saw it on the hanger that it was the one I would love. It has just a little bit of everything that I wanted. Sparkle, detail and not big. It also comes with a detachable jacket and train.

The venue that I'm looking at is for about 120 guests and this includes the kids of family members and friends. The venue is nothing fancy, but it is something inexpensive and has everything that I would want without having to pay so much. They are including the table linens and my decorations will be simple. Can't go wrong with Mason Jars. I'm getting a coworker to help me spray paint them in the colors of our wedding ( I chose one of his favorite colors and one of mine). My Fiance and I have discussed our first dance song and also the kind of music we should ask the dj to play. For me, it is important for my family and friends to know that I am embracing a new culture with so much love and want some of his Persian culture at our wedding  .

Hey Hannah.. I feel I should chip in here and make you aware that any kind of ceremony before your US marriage may result in a K1 visa denial for being too married. Many have reported this on these boards. Suggest you have a hunt around these boards, and/or start a new thread and get some thoughts from other VJ members on here.

Hey,

Thanks for the heads up ive researched and researched over and over before we planned the visa process and all the advice I got seemed to show that as long as the ceremony isn't  legal then it does not matter. ill have more of a look though :/ hopefully it will all be ok :(

guys I think I go a bit craycray today!

so timeline: notice date is 15.09. but received date is 08.09.

so which date did you mark as NOA1?

just confused as I thought it means we need to use the notice date, but when I check on my apps it always refers to 08.09.

Please be very careful with pictures from the humanist ceremony.  If the CO has any thought that you are already married it may cause some issues later.  It seems silly but it has happened before.  Use pics from that very sparingly just in case...
