Hi everyone,

Today is the day, the day of a new journey. A journey of patience, wisdom, and hope (also possibly stress, sadness, solitude). Today I send my I-130 package to the Texas Service Center, a request for a K-3 visa for my wife.

I went down the checklist, double checked everything, have the package assemble, and I think everything should be fine.

Any last pearls of wisdom before I send it? Something to check that people tend to miss in the packet or on the forms? Here is what I'm sending:

1. Payment in the amount of $190.00.

2. Completed Form I-130, signed by myself, the petitioner and U.S. Citizen.

3. Copy of my U.S. birth certificate.

4. Translation of marriage certificate.

5. Certified copy of marriage certificate (in Spanish)

6. Completed and signed Form G-325A for myself

7. Passport style photo of myself

8. Completed and signed Form G-325A for my wife

9. Passport style photo of my wife

10. Evidence of a bona fide marriage

a. Translated letter from physician

b. Letter from physician certifying pregnancy (in Spanish)

Thanks everyone!

Man, I just checked the tracking on the USCIS package I sent yesterday, and it says:

"We attempted to deliver your item at 11:06 AM on April 20, 2007 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. A second delivery attempt will be made. If unsuccessful, we will hold it for five business days and then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

Huh? It's a P.O. Box, how can this be possible?

If you cant afford an attorney.... ask legeal aid... I had a big enough nightmare with an attorney.. I cant imagine doing this without one,... One little mistake or omission and your screwed... Just my opinion... I do wish you well however you decide

Huh? What would a simple mailing issue have to do with hiring an attorney or not to handle my case? I left my tracking number at work but I'm sure I can figure out a solution with the USPS.

You obviously are on the wrong forums buddy if you think this whole thing can't be done without a lawyer. (Assuming you have a normal, non-complicated case.) Also, just because someone is a lawyer doesn't mean they are "perfect" and won't make any mistakes as any human being would. I would even say they are even higher chances of error with an attorney, since for them it's just a job and a client, for us it's or own life.
