Hi,

Dreamy fiance recieved packet 3 on monday! I've got my I-134 half filled out. This is what is keeping me from finishing it:

1. Where do I list my Roth IRA? Is that "on deposit in savings banks" or "stocks and bonds?"

2. Personal property= computer, scanner, shoes, vintage clothes that I could sell for cash to support us if need be?

3. Once it is filled out and i get my signature notarized, what do I do with it? Does dreamy fiance take the original to his interview?

Please advise!

Much thanks!

Our I-134 consisted of:

  • I-134 signed and notarized.
  • IRS Returns (1040, W2, 1099) for past 3 years, 1 is required the other 2 are optional but I included them anyway.
  • IRS Transcripts for past 3 years, the above or the transcripts work, I believe in a little redundancy.
  • Letter from employer, quoting salary, full time permanent position, job description, on company letter head.
  • Pay stubs for past 6 months.

Keep in mind most consulates treat k-visas just like other immigrant visas and processes them through the immigrant unit, they hold the I-134 to the same standards of the I-864, and use the income evidence requirements of the I-864 with the I-134.

They are more concerned with income not assets, if income is too low, get a joint sponsor.

The I-134 is used for other types of non-immigrant visas like student, business, and visitors visas that tend to be truly short term.

You only need to provide (1, and 2) in your question if your income falls below 125% of the poverty line when counting you, any dependents, and the sponsored immigrant(s). The assets are used to bridge the short fall between income and 125% poverty line. My income is 45K so I did not show any assets, showing them only gives the interviewing officer more questions to ask, and more evidence to show to prove the numbers on the form.

elizabethrrr,

1. stocks and bonds, if you wish to show the IRA

2. yes, if you wish to show your personal property

3. you send it to your dreamy fiance to take to his interview. Include appropriate documentation for all financial resources that you have shown.
