Just called our lawyer and my state senator, and the inquiry was sent to the Montreal Consulate. I was told it should be reviewed with a time of 2 weeks, so here's hoping. Congrats to you all who've been approved and good luck to everyone else!

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Hey sweet, just got a call from my senator's office and the Consulate General contacted her by email on Tuesday and said they were going to review our case as soon as possible :) I'm sure that doesn't mean days or anything, but at least my wife and I might be able to sleep a little more haha.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Hoping for a positive outcome!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Phone Call Two: April 13, 2007: No Date: She said that while no date is scheduled, they're moving toward our date of January 17th and that late May seems likely for an interview.

Phone Call Three: April 17, 2007 -- No Date: Our interview should be within the 6-8 week timeframe.

Letter from Congressional Representative: We have a backlog of up to six months for appointments. It is doubtful we will be able to accommodate him before June.

Phone Call Four: Montreal gives Jon an interview date of May 9th -- that's next week. And supposedly Packet 4 is in the mail.

Senator Levin is actually helping, and he already helped push the I-212 through after over 10 months of waiting :)

My wife had her interview on April 5, 2007, and the lady who "interviewed" us totally misinterpreted the law, and while doing so was pretty much the nastiest person I've ever come into contact with. We've had a lawyer throughout this entire process, and right after I had a meeting with him and was told that she was 100% false. We had my lawyer and Senator Levin send in inquiries and a packet disproving what she claimed on Friday, and we've already touched base with them. Within a week or two we should hear back, and hopefully it will just be to mail in the passport and wait for the Visa :)

I just read up on what happened to you. Terrible. Senator Levin is a nice guy; I hope his office can help you, especially since he's been a Senator for so long. So many times, it seems like they want all kinds of information and documentation, but then can't be arsed to actually look at it. Even CIBP is that way.
