We were approved this morning. I have to say everyone I had contact with was just lovely. It started with the guard walking the queues, checking for passports and embassy letters. I teasingly asked him not to laugh when he saw my passport photo, so he proceeded to laugh uproariously. Then he said I looked lovely today. That made me feel better. He said, "Well it could be worse." When I asked how? He held my passport up over his head and shouted for all everyone to see "how the people that take passort photos can make even a pretty girl look......less than her best". Strangely, it made me laugh and relax. It was just what I needed.

I'll post more on the review section, but I just wanted to say thank you to all on this forum and VJ in general. What a valuable resource.

Congratulations!! When you flying over?

Although I've not ever been to the Embassy myself, they seem not as scary as people might make them out to be. When Dave did the retarded forgetting about 2nd part of the interview, I was soooo scared that they'd make him reschedule. They all seemed to just laugh about it. I hope this helps other people who are getting ready to go to their interview to relax. :)

April 21 Dave arrives in America!

April 28 WE GET MARRIED!!!

May 9 Went to SS office and was denied

May 15 After gathering all paperwork, told we must file through DORA program

July 19 DORA appointment - they send paperwork to Chicago after this.

July 24 Paperwork is received by Chicago

August 9 Notice for Biometrics appointment

August 28 NOAs for AOS/EAD

Sept 6 Biometrics

Sept 26 Email saying card production ordered for EAD.. YES!!!

Oct 9 EAD card, Yay!!!!!

Dec 31 Finally got the Resident card! Yay!!!

Thanks Nicole.....and yes, reading about Dave's "mis"-adventures really DID help. I only threw up twice from nerves! LOL

I see that you are into hours..instead of days until Dave arrives. Warm wishes that the sunshines on your wedding day, and every day of your new life!

What is it with passport pictures? My husband looks like a serial killer in his, and I look sloshed. I was sure some worker at CSC would take one look at the photos and stamp a big red "NOT A CHANCE!" across our petitions. ;)
