Affidavit of support questions urgent

So there is a problem with the form I'm filling out for the affidavit of support form i-864.

It is counting my wife twice on the form which is inflating the household number on the form. The total household number is automatically generated by the form. Please see the attached image. On #1 it asks how many people are being sponsored in this affidavit

#3 Asks if I'm married so I should enter "1" for my spouse.

The problem is my spouse is the one which is being sponsored in this affidavit which means both #1 and #1 refer to the same person and it is inflating the household size which is automatically calculated in #8

Another very important question I have is. If my wife's parents are taking care of the children should I still list them in #3? Or can I list "0 dependent children" in number 4 because they are not included on the petition and they are being looked after and will continue to be looked after by my wife's' parents after the approval of the visa?

Thanks for everyone's help so far!

Your wife is already counted in number 1, it should even say on the form somewhere that you should NOT count the same person twice.

If you have a co-sponsor then number 1 would be 1 for your wife, and number 3 would be 1 for his wife. As an example.

Yes but the form I downloaded automatically totals the fields which are white in color. Meaning it automatically counted my wife two times. Based on the answers I gave. What do I do if the form is totaling incorrectly? Do I manually modify the PDF document to reflect the correct values? If you total up all the numbers in 1-7 it comes out to a household of 6 which is in the box but its counting my wife two times in #1 and in #3

This is my i-864 for my wife's petition. So I'm not listing anything on here regarding the joint sponors household. I guess I need to list his wife on his i-864 affidavit of support right?

Do you have any advise regarding the children as dependents?

Thanks so much @Scandi

Number 3 should be 0 as you have already counted her in number 1. You can't count her twice, doesn't it say that on the form? When we filled it out it said "don't count anyone twice" just above that part.

Are you saying that #3 should be 0 even though I do in fact have a wife? Which is the person I'm petitioning.

The form is counting it right, if you fill in your wife twice, the form counts her twice.

OK thank you. I'll mark #3 0 then. What about children, if your unsure I'll just wait for others to chime in as well. Thanks a lot for all your help @Scandi

You need to add all your children, no matter who cares for them, no matter if you see them or not, no matter where in the world they live.

Just leave i my blank and fill it in with the correct numbers with pen. That's what I did and the person who reviews it isn't a computer so she'll understand. I also wrote a sentence on the extra spaces on the back saying my wife is also the intending immigrant. And that's all

Good idea. Just leave it blank and put it in pen. Thank you
