September filer here as well. AOS from F1 visa due to marriage to a USC. Self-filing (no lawyer)

Sept 17th - Package sent via FedEx

Sept 20th - Package received & text notification

Oct 6th - Biometrics appt.

Oct 10th - Biometrics done (walk-in)

Oct 21st - RFIE on I-485 received asking for proof that I was able to legally work (I used my income to supplement the household income in form I-864)

Oct 23rd - Response to RFIE sent

Oct 26th - Website updated with "Response to RFIE received"

Bummed that I got a RFIE given that I had sent in proof of being able to work originally (just not as a direct attachment to I-864).

Hoping that it does not reset the time on my process but we'll see. Was hoping to get AP by December to be able to travel home but that's probably not happening.

Hey, I see your office is in Denver, mine too. Got an RFIE too, so it will be interesting to see how our cases will compare. I've heard Denver is very slow.

I got my official EAD + AP approval letter in the mail today. They should be sending out my actual combo card out tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'll have it this weekend! This has surely been because of our Congressman. Asking helps!

September filers here! I wonder if the I485 status was updated to 'Ready to be scheduled for an interview' (mine at 11/01/2017) does that mean I will not receive RFE in the future?

Thanks!

Good question.. I *think* that this means you won't get an RFE, since the status doesn't change until the NBC completely checks your file. This doesn't mean that once it reaches your local field office that they will find something wrong with it... Ready through some older filing threads I suggest!

Damn. I wonder if the number of AoS applications has also seen a similar increase.

That would be definite, but there is nothing we can help other than responding to RFIEs and schedule INFOPASS.

I think the staff in USCIS is also overworked so finger cross for them.

Just an update on my case, if anyone is in a similar boat:

I got my AP on Saturday. It was approved on the 17th of November and got it in the mail on the 25th. I both requested an expedite with USCIS (over the phone, faxed over documents) and also asked my congressman to inquire on my behalf. The reason for expediting may have helped: I have an academic conference I'm presenting a paper at in Chile, which was the basis for requesting the advanced parole.

I'm not sure what pushed it through, but the fact of the matter is that the congressman sent the inquiry in on the 16th and on the 17th they approved it, could be coincidence but I think that had something to do with it.

Interestingly, I just got the AP, no EAD yet (I only requested to expedite the AP). All I can say is if you have some pressing reason to expedite your AP, use all the tools available to you and it may just happen. I also did an infopass appointment hoping they'd give me the AP on the spot but no chance of that.

I also got my EAD yesterday. my priority date is september 20th, the notice date is november 25th. ironically, I got the EAD card before the approval letters.

my status never changed, it still says "Case Received". I wasn't expecting this to happen that fast, but like someone else said, best early christmas present ever!

I didn't expedite the process, but I did put a service request. I don't know if that helped or not because my online status keep saying "case received" and it says my service request is not assigned for processing. I wonder, why they are not updating the case status. my I-485 still stuck at "Fingerprint fee received" and now I'm not sure if maybe my case is ready to schedule an interview or not.

Those are good news for all of us. Thanks! My case is pending 65 days too, hope I can receive the card within normal time frame (you know, fewer than 90 days instead of 120 + days...)
