Hey,

Can I ask you when did USCIS receive your RFIE response? I have a similar timeline as yours but haven't heard anything on my EAD. They received my RFIE response on 10.24.17.

Thanks.

They received our RFIE response on 10.18.17, so your timeline is very similar to ours. We also made numerous service requests, only 1 of which was marked 'complete' on January 12, so that may or may not have effected the EAD approval. The 2 service requests we made online were ignored, but the one that we called in over the phone was the one that was eventually completed.

Hello just looking for some insight if anyone has had a similar situation. Here is my AOS filing history:

August 15 2017- married
September 25 2017- packet sent to USCIS
September 26 2017- delivered to USCIS Chicago [day 0]
October 24 2017- biometrics appointment [day 28]
December 27 2017- inquiry about EAD [day 92]
January 4 2018- RFIE (for I-765 work permit) mailed to lawyer [day 100]
January 19 2018- RFIE response mailed to USCIS [day 115]
January 26 2018- USCIS received response to RFIE for I-765 (Work Permit) [day 122]

Basically, I submitted all required documents via my lawyer. We received the RFIE for the I-765 because my lawyer incorrectly put their law firm address where our US mailing address should have went. That was the only reason for the request for evidence. USCIS received the response on January 26. I am wondering how long this will delay my whole case and when should i expect a decision and my work permit? Has anyone had a situation like this before? I have no criminal history or problems with immigration. I am a Canadian citizen. Thank you for any insight!

I had the same problem with you back in August. I got an RFIE. Unfortunately, an RFIE resets the entire process and takes your counter back to day zero for the EAD/AP. There are some reports of the RFIE not having any impact on approval, but in my experience and from speaking to a couple of USCIS Immigration Officers - the RFIE does send the clock back to day zero.

Wow! I am baffled at your situation...We use lawyers to make the process easier and smoother and they fuc**d up...I would so try to get a reimbursement or not pay them... Unfortunately the RFIE has an impact and while it may not take too much longer if you get lucky...it may be another 3 months+ . Good luck!

I later requested to expedite based on a job offer. So my previous SR is marked as "completed".

My status now is This case will be routed for expedited processing.

I hope it means that my expedition request has been approved... Anyone knows?
