Hi all!

My green card got approved today!!

Interview: Lasted 35-40 minutes

The interviewer was great and asked a lot of questions ranging from when we met first, how did we know this was serious, how did the engagement happen, who was at the wedding, what plans for the future etc

But we also talked about some of my husband and my interest ranging from sports, beer to our favorite grocery store.

In the end he stamped my forms and said my card was approved. He did note that our processing times were faster than average (which I know we lucked out with)

:) Good luck to you all! i know its not easy to hear that things will happen as and when they do but hang in there!

My timeline:

Forms received by USCIS on September 19th

Checks cashed and biometric appointment set for October 18th

Got an RFIE update on the website on October 17th

Sent in RFIE documents on October 24th

Documents received status  for RFIE -was updated on the website October 26th

Submitted a request to expedite my EAD November 9th

Received email from USCIS requesting more proof for the expedite request November 13th

Case history shows that expedite request was assigned to an officer November 13th

Faxed documents in response to the email November 15th

Spoke to Tier 2 officer on December 7th because I was concerned about lack of updates after expedite request and asked if for my satisfaction if I could send the papers again via UPS. The officer said there would be no hard in sending it via postal service as well.

Mailed documents for expedite request again on the 7th of December - Delivered at USCIS 8th of December

Received email from USCIS stating that my case and request was under review

December 14 Expedite request approved

December 15 EAD AP approval notices issued

December 21 Card is on its ways

December 21 Received notice with interview date

January 22 2018 Interview and card approved

Wow, congratulations!!!

And it took a month after the faxing to receive EAD?! Thanks for sharing.

Honestly, I would also send documents in the mail for expedite request after you fax it. I believe that's why mine moved along.

Thanks for your advice!

One day after I contacted congressman last week, I received an email from USCIS stating that my case and request was under review. According to your timeline, I am hoping to move to "Expedite request approved" step soon...

I am in the same boat, just 2 weeks behind you. Did you ever get replies about your SR (You created SR online, right)?

Whenever i log in and check my EAD status it shows the request is not assigned to anybody. I called tier2 they told nbc is processing june 30 files that information we can see on their website, he asked me to check that.

My wife has her EAD and ap and it still says case received. We got her interview because we're in Montana and we're obviously more sparsely populated. So, quicker processing here.

Yeah, in the morning I just interacted with a July filter who is still waiting.

On the other hand, some people got both GC and EAD very quickly--they got such great luck. It is understandable that some offices are busier than others, and therefore, the waiting time would be different depending on where you live.

But EAD:( Plus, is it more difficult than to solve an equation?

Some October filers are also getting ead. Dont know how they sequence the files they receive.
