Just received my biometrics appointment letter today, sent on the 15th, arrived today on the 22nd, and date is the 4th of October at 11 AM.

My NOA1 was dated the 13th but arrived start of this week (18th I think). So if you're in the Atlanta area, it seems the biometrics appointment letter just takes a few days after the NOA1 to arrive, about a work week.

Hi Findherkeepher

i765:

1) u filled in your married name for 1) and maiden for 2) ? I didn't change my name, so not sure

2) question 14status of last entry, should be k1 fiancé visa? K1 visa / K1 visa holder

3) question 15 should be non immigrant? same, K1 visa

4) question 16 which eligibility category do we fall into for k1? c 9

i485:

1) in part 3, where it says consulate where visa was issued-- this should be my home country's embassy? also in part 3 where it says in what status did i last enter this should be k1 finance visa? I had not applied for a visa to obtain permanent resident status before, so I answered No and thus did not answer the country. Are you sure you need to answer this one?

Good luck!

Hello everyone!

I finally received the copy of our marriage certificate in the mail yesterday and my husband and I are now getting ready to get the package for the AOS ready. I have a couple of general questions.

1. When I had my K1 medical in Germany, the panel physician said that this exam is going to cover up the AOS medical. But what am I suppose to do with the I-693? Do I still need to go to a civil surgeon or how do I proof that my medical was not too long ago?

2. Do I need my vaccination records to be translated into English since they are in German?

3. Do I still need to include a copy of my most recent I-94 and do I get it on this website: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search?

Thank you all for your help!

Hi,

1. On my end I just send the paper they gave me from the medical showing everything was complete. The ds something.

2. I didn't send my vaccination records as they have the medical and I already provided it to the panel physician.

3. Some people say you don'T actually need it, from my understanding and reading the instructions it seemed like you do. It is so easy to get I included it, better safe than sorry. Yes that website is where to get it.

Hi, everyone! I was getting anxious, but just got e-notification texts/emails of AOS receipt (about 1 hour ago) and wanted to share my detailed timeline until this point!

Sep 15, 2017 - Mailed AOS package via UPS

Sep 18, 2017 -  Received at Chicago office
Sep 22, 2017 - Checks cashed

Sep 24, 2017 (9:20 pm) - E-notifications

I'm currently with F-1 and got married to a USC recently. I'm planning to drop out classes for now and wait until the resident tuition applies to me (because it's way cheaper than international student rate). My school doesn't let me close my F-1 status until I submit a copy of AOS receipt and the deadline for this (with getting a full refund for fall term tuition) is October 3rd. MyCaseStatus page says they "mailed us a notice" though the e-notifications say I will receive the official notice within 7 - 10 days. I got those e-notifications at the most unexpected time (Sunday night)... but I'm hoping they already sent out the physical receipt on Friday so we can find it in our mailbox soon and don't have to worry about it...

They're just fingerprinting you. Your husband shouldn't need to be there.

How did u send in your aos documents the day after getting married, don't we need the certificate back from the court? Or is it just the marriage license? Because I thought we had to submit a copy of the certificate too and that take a week or so

Well, after married then get Marriage Certificate License then can apply for AOS. Mine After Married then 24 hours to get Marriage License. but you can photocopy of your MC then ready for apply for your AOS.

I think it depends on where you live.  I was able to get certified copies 2 days after I got married.  We could have got them the same day but you had to drop off the signed license at a specific office to register it and we didnt want to drive across town.
