I don't think they should for a couple of reasons:

- EAD is processed at a different office of I-485. Not sure they even look into when/if the interview is scheduled.

- I applied to an expedite because I have a job offer. The intended start date was December 4th, way before the interview.

- I was lucky to be able to postpone the start date. However, in order to start on January I still need to provide the documents before hand.

Don't get me wrong. I know I am lucky to be on a State where the field office is not very busy. Very happy to have the interview soon. But I don't think that should have stopped the EAD.

It is normally the procedure though. Not saying it is fair or anything, it is just what they do. So indeed you got lucky on all front ;) .

Thanks. I'm sure I'm lucky.

Nevertheless my AOS twin (same submission date, same State, same interview date) got her EAD approval three weeks ago. So, maybe the normal procedure is not so normal anymore these days.

Got my approval today as well!!

I-765 notice date: 09/18

Approval date: 12/11

Thank you to Andreita.. as soon as I got the approval, I called USCIS and asked to speak to a tier 2 officer and got my tracking number! It says it’s pre-shipment and on its way to a USPS facility. So hopefully next week!

I requested to expedite with a job offer both through a congressional inquiry and directly through USCIS, although I’m pretty sure none of it mattered... my congressman’s caseworker told me it usually two weeks for her to hear a reply from USCIS, which is today; I suspect if she heard something before the 11th, she would’ve let me know. I thanked her anyway. I also mailed my job offer last Monday, so that might’ve been it. No idea!

Yaaaay!! Im happy for you and Im glad I could help you!! Happy xmast!! Thats a good gift! :)

24/OCT/2017 - BIOMETRICS processed early (walk-in)

08/NOV/2017 - MAILED revised Affidavit of Support

13/NOV/2017 - Arrived at Lee's Summit, Missouri per UPS

08/DEC/2017 - NOA 797C for I-131, I-765 issued (received in mail on 15/DEC/2017) [USCIS case status website: no update; still states case received 29/SEP/2017]

12/DEC/2017 - AED & AP COMBO CARD issued (received in mail on 15/DEC/2017) [USCIS case status website: no update; still states case received 29/SEP/2017]

Really thought the RFE would really delay everything. Super happy that we can finally start planning our honeymoon abroad and I can also go back to Canada for the holidays.

Cheers!

What do RFE's look like? We received one letter from USCIS that I can't check since I'm out of town. I can see the statue of liberty's arm, so it looks like an approval letter of some kind or what an acceptance letter would like. Do RFE's look like that too???

Yesterday my husband finally agreed to get me a kitten (he was hesitant previously because he has two 13 year old dogs) and he said since Im off work Ill have lots of time to spend with her and make sure they all get along.  Now today I see I have two letters from USCIS in the mail.  Whhhhhyyyyyyyyyy?!?! LOL

It's too early for the mail to be here yet, But I assume more good news for September filers.  My NOA1 was Oct. 4, Received Sept. 28; No expedite or RFIE.  I will update if it turns out to be an RFE instead.

Thanks guys!!! I'll let you know next week what it is! Wouldn't I get 2 approvals one for ead and one for ap? Or is it together?

Based on what i've read from other people experiences...the approval letters come separate for ead and ap. One can come before the other.

That's what I thought, I only got one notice from USCIS. It's possible it's an interview notice, but that would be pretty early. Although, my office is pretty far ahead in processing times.
