don't worry about it, i was just really curious if indeed some visa types are scrutinized less than others and are therefore "faster" as a result. but yeah, that would be sooooo good if the processing for k1 aos is faster but sadly it's been taking longer and longer these days.

Except that if you don't have an interview it doesn't go through the local office. That's what I was saying earlier about mine will be delayed if I don't have an interview. Because it will be rerouted to CSC I believe.

Infact aos for F-1 visas usually take a longer time as they usually suspect frodulence. To be honest I think it's a little bit of luck with the simplicity of case that moves it faster.

August 2011- Arrived in the US on an F1 visa.

February 2012- Started dating my wife.

May 2013- graduated with Master's degree.

September 2014- Started getting my Phd.

September 2016- got engaged

January 2017- got married

August 29- Mailed i-485, i-130, i-765, i-131

September 1st 2017- Package received by USCIS

September 8th- Check encashed

September 9th- online notification, email notification, and text notification. Case being processed by NBC.

September 11th- NOA 1 received via mail.

September 15th- NOA to attend biometrics received

September 27th- biometrics appointment completed

October 6th- a yellow form asking me to bring my i-693 to the interview

October 17th- received online notice that interview has been scheduled

October 20th- received the interview letter.

November 20th- Interview.

November 20th- Approved and got the I-551 stamp on my passport.

Now waiting for my green card in mail.

It might be longer and longer, but it is still faster than the other due to the fact everything else has already been scrutinized. My case is done at NBC, been ready to be scheduled for interview since October 27th...now it's my field office that need to schedule me and of course I'm just in the pile. Still it got approved really quick. People that just got married or other type of things take longer normally.

how long did it take from doing the biometrics to your status changing to ready for interview? just curious.  i know once it is ready for interview, mine will take a long time to actually get a date since my local office is notoriously slow.
