So Ive noticed a lot of people taking assisting from their local senator or congressman to assist in finding out status or updates for their case. Do you all see any benefit in doing so?

It does, but when your case is way past normal processing. During my k1 I used their help twice and they were able to provide me some information/things moved, but I was way past normal processing time, everyone who applied in January had had their file transferred to get their number, some even had had their interview and I was still stuck. 90 days is an average, and well unfortunately the way they work means some will get their EAD before and some after. So unless it has been 5months I wouldn't bother the congress person.

@Visitor User, they are backlogged on SR as well...Sometimes taking weeks before they get assigned...Who knows what is the impact of raising a SR? Does it slow down everyone else because they are working on SR instead of the actual deal? People in other thread actually have been saying to wait until 90 days, which is the average. The 75days was before when the processing time were faster. Unfortunately USCIS increased its fees and decreased its speed ;).

Hi i sent my files on the 19th and got the notice date on the 26th of Sept! I have done biometrics and just waiting for my EAD

My husband is a soldier and he got his orders to another states in February 2018. So Now I am worried about my EAD and interview...

after EAD received, how long does it take to do interview?

I know i can change the address but hope that doesnt cause the problem getting my green card later that I should be... since I will be moving to another states...

The interview is scheduled by your local office. Some offices are quicker than others, with several of the larger ones being backlogged. Depending on which office your case goes through, it can take anywhere from 4 to 12 months from filing to schedule the interview.

Not everyone gets an interview though. No interview and it goes through a different office I believe. Which actually makes it take a bit longer.

It seems like the days of interview waivers are over though.

Haven't seen anyone from April, May or June filers thread get an interview waiver. Almost everyone who filed in the spring has had an interview or has one scheduled unless they are going through a very busy office.

That article doesn't have any impact on k1 AOS applicants. So, for me it shouldn't make a difference.

If there is it's not on the USCIS site. I checked all recent news.

It looks like a local article. I'm not sure where they got the information about all fiance visas getting interviews as of April 2017. I haven't heard that anywhere, let alone from USCIS. I tried to find contact info for the station, but couldn't find anything. Weird!

Hi @astronot

I did submit an expedite request based on a job offer last week, Monday November 13th. I still haven't heard back from them on requesting proof or anything, so I share your anxiety. For what I've read on other threads it seems it takes 1 to 2 weeks to process from the moment you fax the documents. Hopefully you'll have good news delivered to your mail soon.

Did your case status get any update? Mine changed to "received service request" and then "completed service request" on November 14th but they did not communicate with me to ask for proof or anything. I called and they told me that the service request may take up to 30 days to process and they have nothing to tell me.

I think it might be faster if you call them and submit and expedite request.

I called them on Thursday and got an email on Monday requesting for further proof
