Hello everyone! Just checking in - we just received our NOA2 on September 12 from USCIS. If I understand it correctly, we have to wait for NVC to assign us a case number, and then we can use this to log in online to assign an Agent (Form DS-261). And what is the 'scan date' that everyone is talking about? Is that when NVC has received your entire package?
Many thanks for your help and I hope your petitions are processed quickly!

Check out the process here

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Also check some of our timelines or signatures as we've filled in info.

scan date is when they're officially receive your package and scanned it into their system, you'll have to confirm this on the phone with them.

Note its not when they receive it from USCIS but when you send in the requested documents after paying fees.

They technically have 6 weeks to receive it,  but normally doesn't take that long. Mine was 3 weeks from Approval

hey mine was few days some times uscis actually fail to send actual package to NVC. That cause delay. what i suggest call USCIS first and confirm if they had send you docs once confirmed. Then call NVC and ask for scan date.. this might help and you would be able to start paying fee and fill out forms.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for your attention!

We received an NVC checklist today after first scandate July 30, 2017. My wife sponsors me for CR1.

Now they want my Police certificate we already provided in the package. It's best to do what they ask and get an other one, so we will send that in again. However... They ask to add a copy of her civil documents again, saying "e.g. your birth certificate" and also a signed copy of the  I-864.

Civil documents... would be all civil documents, right? So: bc, mc, divorce decree? Also a copy of her passport?

My wife now says: But they have all those already, this does not make sense. Can you please help, so she can accept and decide what to send?

Thanks for help.

The only thing that pertains to your checklist is the last page of the email sent. The page that says "correspondence" . The first two pages are sent in every checklist. The first page is saying it is a checklist. The second is the cover sheet for if you are required to send them to NVC. The third page will tell you exactly what they need and if it is to be sent in to NVC.

They schedule first in ,first out. So all cases that are eligible for a interview and are completed before yours will get scheduled before yours. We should start seeing interviews being scheduled again next week to the 1st-2nd week of October for November. It just depends on your country's work load and Thier interview slots..

My AOS fee cleared overnight, I submitted it Friday.

I also got an email overnight for my IV fee, it was dated yesterday and just paid it, so I'm expecting it to clear on Thursday and then hopefully be able to fill out the DS-260.

Not sure if I'll put the package together before or after that.

I'm in Mexico till Tuesday next week, I might get it there a few days earlier mailing it from here but it'll cost more so I'll have to figure that out.
